The Men who stare at Goats

I'd read a few reviews that made this film sound pretty boring but went to see it to decide for myself.
I'm glad I did!
It wasn't really what I'd expected from watching the trailers, it was very light and funny - not laugh out loud but it kept the audience chuckling along and had a feel good ending.

I wouldn't class myself as a George Clooney fan but this film may well have changed my mind. He played his character with just enough seriousness that you want him to succeed as a psychic 'Jedi' warrior and Ewan McGregor (having played the ultimate Jedi Warrior) was perfect as the (initially) cynical reporter.

8/10 for a very entertaining 93 minutes!

I thought what the reviewers were saying was that it's based on a non-fiction book but it's a fictional storyline, and by saying "more of this is true than you would believe" the film's makers are avoiding telling us whether it's true or not.

I saw the movie last Friday and thought it was very funny in places but also dragged slightly in others.

Didn't help that it was plonked in one of the small screens due to that Michael Jackson movie being out, as if I'm paying

I agree, i found myself looking at my watch quite often to see when it would be over. This looked hilariously funny in the trailer i was quite disappointed leaving the cinema.:(

I thought it was a poor film that didn't seem to know how to end properly. There were one or two funny moments, but not enough to spend cash on. The fact that its a BBC made film will probably mean it'll be free on BBC tv next year, so don't waste your money. Seeing it on a big screen won't make any difference.
3/10

It's a very strange film.

There was a couple of funny moments, but nothing too brilliant... And I was beginning to geta little bored in the last 30 minutes or so. I didn't really seem to think that it had much of a conclusion to it either. It just kind of ended.

Gets a 6/10 from me.

The funniest bit by far was the guy with the weights hanging off his knakkers!
:D

Thought it was an excellent film. Very smart, many layered, and some great performances. Also thought the last line (given who delivered it) was gloriously metatextual.
