VERY surprised by this film. :)

I laughed. Actually I laughed alot!

Not really a Sandler fan, but I was rolling with this film! Chris Rock ROCKED! Bury ReynolRAB ROCKED! Everybody ROCKED!

And its a pretty good sports film to boot! Great no holRAB barred bone crunching sports action!

One problem though... the soundtrack. There's alot of great tracks in the movie that are NOT on the soundtrack

e.g Nelly's "Here comes the boom" and Ludacris and Sum 41 "Get back" Guns and Roses... you get the point.

Anyway apart from that... a comedy that is actually funny!
:D :D :D :D :D

I kinda got sucked in by some of the negative comments by the critics. But I also looked at the users ratings over at Yahoo! And not only were most of them were giving it an A (or a 'surprised' B). But they were giving good reasons as to 'why' they were giving it such high marks.

And as for realism in an American football film... its probably the best I've seen. You'll see part of what goes on in the trailer. But also, guys who get hit do a triple somersault before landing on their heaRAB!
There is alot of beautifully choregraphed violence. Some of which will make you burst out laughing. (I know that sounRAB strange, but it is a comedy!) :)

I don't know why its not out in Britain yet (well I do really, we're kinda cr@p!). But I can almost guarentee that because its to do with American football that the critics are gonna pan it and the audience will stay away (does not have the universal appeal of 'Wedding Crashers'). Which is a pity because I know zip about American football, but this film is about far more than that.

The good news I guess is that its racked in $157 million and is Sandlers biggest opening movie with $47 million. I don't think anyone would have predicted that.

As for the original. I've seen it. I know I liked it. But I barely remember it!
:)

The opening for this film in the UK is on 14th October 2005.

The US release date was 27th May 2005.
Its release date on DVD in the US is September 20 2005.

Oh well. The trailer is right here

Though there is a longer version that I like better.

Um... first. Sorry about the release date. My bad :o

I thought this film would do so badly over here. Critics slaughtered it! :(

Great to see it at the top of the BO. Will try to see it again at the cinema this weekend. :)

I saw this film a few weeks ago and then went to see it last night, now its opened at my local Cinema. Good fun movie I thought, quite a few moments to laugh at, a few to wince out. The film works for me because:

Adam Sandler - Good
Chris Rock - Good
Steve Austin - Great
Kevin Nash - Great (Probably the funniest guy in the film)

Will definitely watch it again and will be getting the DVD. I can alternate this then with The Replacement and Waterboy for my light-hearted NFL Football movies.
