Saw this advertised earlier on ITV.

It's apparently based on a novel & the trailer looked very intense indeed! The plot being a very possesive grandmother (I assumed). Looked creepy!..which of course is the intention.

Anyway, anyone see it and are looking forward to this thriller? :D

I cant wait for this! I hope I dont miss the first one like I did Bouquet of barbed wire & have to watch it on catch up. They keep advertising it, but hold back when it's starting. Shooting themselves in the foot. I dont watch normal tv much.

The first thing i thought of when i saw this advertised was a thing from years ago with Dame diana rigg..think it was called the mother? someone please correct me as im a lil bit pished now...:o

I think it was called 'Mother Love'. I remember watching at least some of it. It was very good.

the mother became more and more paranoid and psychotic, systematically destroying anyone or anything that came between her and her son.

Off topic I know, but I've also seen a trailer for an American film called Red (with Helen Mirren). It looks very much like the premise for New Tricks with three retired American cops and what looks like a younger, female boss. It's probably nothing like it but that was the first thing which struck me.

Well I think I look's good :D

Quite chilling though...a baby being at the heart of it but then that's the point (and as it's based on a book-the adapation has to be made around that).

I might get the book actually. Not sure when it airs?

I read the Philippa Gregory novel years ago, It's a great psychological thriller and very atmospheric. I hope the telly people do it justice. I too remember the fabulous Diana Rigg in Mother Love, another mother-in-law from hell tale and this story is along the same lines. Reckon it wil be worth a watch.

Am looking forward to this. I like FA and this story is brilliant. Loved the Diana Rigg Motherlove. Poor old james Grout came a cropper in that.

But not too pissed to remember that amazing drama! I think it was called Mother Love and DR was terribly good in it. As was James Wilby and the girl who played his wife (can't remember the actress's name) Oh, if only they made pyschological thrillers and dramas like that these days!
I've got the book and read it every few years or so. Wonderful story and actually believable!

I think it looks quite good - excellent cast with Francesca Annis, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rupert Evans and Lucy Griffiths (although I didn't think she was that good in U Be Dead - preferred her as Maid Marion

I like a good wicked mother-in-law story
