Surely this Disney classic has been released on DVD in this country? I've been searching for it for ages, but all I can find are completely overpriced ones to be imported from America.

I love the film, and I've worn out the video :o but I can't find anywhere that sells it for less than
 
Yeah, I have the DVD. There's a very annoying, slight pause at one point, because there's an option to insert a new song. And the song itself is rubbish, because it's a Zazu number but clearly not voiced by Rowan Atkinson.
 
Disney seem to have a thing where they will release the classics for a limited time, and then a few years later re-release them. For example, Snow White was recently re-released on DVD and released on Blu-Ray for the first time.

Beauty and the Beast is being released next so the Lion King should be re-released next year :)
 
I don't understand the logic behind the Vault.
Looking at eBay and other online retailers, all it appears to do is create a grey market where people pay grossly inflated prices for second hand discs at a loss of revenue to Disney.
I would gladly pay Disney
 
Disney is silly. 6 years without it on general release? Hence why I downloaded it! Disney should know now that people want instant gratification when it comes to film. If we want to see it now, we will find a way to see it! And Disney loses out. Silly them.
 
Gonna bite the bullet on this one and wait for the Bluray release.
It will probably come with a DVD for the kiRAB to wreck for the same price a used DVD is currently and it surely can't be that long away now that the Bluray market is kicking off.
