"The Life And Times Of Tim" First Season - Talkback (Spoilers)

Been watching the show every weekend since its premiere and have to say while the animation is pretty awful. The dialogue and writing is brilliant. Almost feels like an animated "Curb". I really hope HBO sticks with this show. I don't feel like anyone else is watching this unfortunately.

I've been watching this show since the first episode, and it hasn't had a bad episode yet. "Senior Prom/Tim Fights an Old Man" is definately the best episode aired so far.

This past Sunday's episode 'Mad Dog Tim/Monday Night Confession' was hilarious. You knew that no matter what Tim's sin was, it was going to be blown way out of proportion compared to everyone else's.

Y'know despite the fact that the animation is supposedly crap I think I'm going to watch this because Home Movies and Curb are two of my favorite shows.

Also the title reminds me of my favorite bonehead.

edit: Looking at the animation kind of reminds me of Sunday Pants mixed with Stroker and Hoop. Ugh.

I've seen some clips of the show, and it has that Home Movies-type dialogue driven humor, which isn't a bad thing at all. I thought the clips were pretty funny. I would watch it, but I don't get any premium channels at college, so I have to wait until I go back home to see it.

If this show does get enough episodes and HBO decides to syndicate it, I could see this fitting in with Adult Swim.

It definetly has an Adult Swim vibe to it. Except not as vulgar and more dialogue driven humor. Something Adult Swim seems to have strayed from in the past few years.

Does anyone know how long the first season is? I'm definately going to pick up the eventual DVD set- provided it's not horribly overpirced like the rest of HBO's shows.

I agree with what everyone else has been saying. At least from that short two-minute clip, it looks to have the comic appeal and intelligent writing. I suppose the animation is supposed to add character or something, but Tim looks like a pretty decent show.

I love how they're also somewhat building their own continuity, referencing events from past episodes. Although for the life of me, I can't figure out WHY Amy stays with Tim, especially after 'Angry Unpaid Hooker', 'Senior Prom' and and "Monday Night Confession'.

Tim, Stu, & Marie:

You could see the setup coming from a mile away. Poor Tim and Stu, lol. I loved the high production value of the sting video and how Stu fell for the second sting.

Miss February:

Debbie's quickly turning into my favorite recurring character. I guess Tim didn't have much money since he now has no vacation pay, lol. The 'This isn't a restaraunt' exchange was brilliant.

Man, I wish I got HBO right now. Those clips were LOL funny. "Two things can happen when that door closes: Either you're about to get fired, or things are about to get gay."

Honestly, I wish this were done in Squigglevision. It would be PERFECT for the Dr. Katz and Home Movies-style dialog, and it would give the bare bones, barely-move animation a little more energy.

Bashko's Hairy Daughter

It's sad to see how truly abused Tim is in the workplace. No wonder he encouraged Blobsnark to pursue stripping. Tim giving her friendly advice on climbing the pole as opposed climbing the corporate ladder was wrong, but so hilarious.

Tim's Not Singing

It's amazing how it's always the little things that get Tim into hot water, such as not singing Happy Birthday with everyone else. Between this and 'Mad Dog Tim', I really and truly despise Tim's boss. As always, Debbie stole the show.
