The League of Gentlemens Apocalypse

I see the film version The League of Gentlemens from the B.B.C series is being co-produced by
Universal Studios, Film Four and Tiger Aspect Pictures.

Wonder why, the team behind T.L.O.G went to Film Four ?, after all The BBC have produced some good movies.

This is not
"The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"

This is the BBC 2 Comedy series. Ran for three series between 1999 and 2003. The movie is about
the inhabitants having to leave Royston Vasey,

Oh god on every board i go one people mistake this for 'the league of extraordinary gentlemen' but i guess it's a good thing because then more people will go to see this....

I didnt realise that the film was co-produced by film four which I agree does seem strange for a film based on a BBC TV series!
Does anybody know why the release date of League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse was moved back from the end of April to the 3rd of June?

If that was the reason then why move it back over a month rather than a few weeks?
Especially now as it opens on the same day as Sin City!

I don't think they're worried about the overlap (which I believe would be quite small) of fans that like both the show and the original comics.

Those that really like both will see both, and I'm sure the publicity will bring League of Gentlemen fans out the woodwork... I can't see the film being overly accessible to the casual fan without alienating the fans of the radio and TV shows.
