One of my fav 80's movies starting on CH5 at 2PM today. Kettles on.

Yep, a great little 80's sci fi movie, with a lot of humour. Robert Prestons alien character is very entertaining.

The early computer effects probably look a little dated, but it was revolutionary for it's time.

I also liked the sub-plot of the replacement Alex trying to cope with the rituals of earth teenagers.

Unfortunately, I understand the recent us Blu Ray is very disappointing in terms of pic and sound quality. Shame, a decent upgrade and remastering could have made this an essential purchase.

the Gunstar is truly one of the greatest ever sci-fi movie spaceships.

That's the best part of the film.
It's nice to see Lance Guest in a starring role. It's a shame he isn't in more films, I liked him a lot in this & Halloween II.

I was surprised to learn that the director of this film is Nick Castle who played Michael Myers in the first Halloween film
