The Last Man on Earth

For Vincent Price completists and fans of truly obscure horror, The Last Man on Earth gets a rare/first outing on British tv.
Later remade as The Omega Man, although not a masterpiece, it's much closer to Richard Matheson's truly creepy novel, I am Legend, from which it's adapted.
The bad news is that it's on Open Access 2 (Thursday 2014) which, unless things have changed, may be unavailable or the picture quality will make the African channels look like High Definition.
We can only hope. :)

I have the book I Am Legend, read it twice. I thought it was excellent. I have wanted to see Vincent Price's version to see how close it is to the book. The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston was a massacre of the book. The first 25 minutes or so was close to the book. After that the story was made up as they went along. Pathetic indeed!.

Hopefully Will Smith's version of I Am Legend (out next year) will be better as the director stated it will be closer to the book than previous efforts by Charlton Heston and co. I hope so.

Shame I wont be able to see this Vincent Price one on TV. Maybe one day I will get to see it. :)

It is being shown several times on OA2 so don't despair yet, unless you mean you don't have Sky, in which case you are out of luck I guess.
It can be downloaded via P2P but the copy I had was out of sync. Given the overall standard of acting in it though, this wasn't really a problem. :)
