The Lake House

I am a huge Sandra Bullock fan and this is the most dissapointing film I have ever seen her in. It was just so dull. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to it. Enjoyed Just My Luck more which I saw the next day. Total nonsense but entertaining all the same.

Just watched this movie on DVD and it's a very gently paced movie - but both Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are very likeable in it. I very much enjoyed it!

It was no more dull than the majority of movies out these days. Lets face it, Hollyweird is running out of ideas for something original and at least The Lake House was 'different'. Ridiculously unbelievable but nevertheless entertaining in its own way. I am truly sick and tired of (usually not very good) sequels but that seems to be all that we can now expect.

Not sure why this thread back up but agree with majority on her that was a dull movie that didnt really make much sense. Not moving, funny or a true representation of Bullock's talent. Why she agreed to do it I will never know.

I too thought it was full of holes and still think Reeves has no emotion which is why he was good in Matrix. I loved the time travellers wife and read it twice to check she had the time lines right -she did! I look forward to seeing this fil although no doubt Hollywood won't get it right

I loved the Lakehouse - but was so annoyed all the way through as
I'd sussed that it was him dead at the start of the film and therefore was wondering all the way through if 'it turned out ok' - ie he was alive and well at the end - which he was
Great film

Just watched this on BBC One, and have to say it was ok. Much better than alot of rubbish that's been coming out recently and makes a change to show a different film apart from Sixth Sense and Die Hard all the time.

One thing came to my mind though, why didn't Sandra Bullock's character just ring the US version of '118 118' and track Reeve's character down? Would have saved a lot of hassle!?

I watched this film last night and am confused by something. I figured out that she ended up being in 2008 and he was in 2006 and it was Valentine's day and she figured out it was him who had died in her arms 2 years ago. But when she raced to put the letter in the mailbox what made him race to the Lake House and look in his box of letters. How did he know to go there?

The other thing I don't get is the fact that Kate goes to the Lake House just after Valentine's Day and the person dying. But when she writes to Alex it's April cos she senRAB him a scarf cos of the snow storm. But they're exactly 2 years apart!

The mailbox is never explained, that's the supernatural element of the film I guess.

I saw it months ago on Sky - and only caught the end last night on BBC One. I think I'm going to have to watch it again to fully understand.

Good film ....with Patrick Swayze having a bad hair day! ....must have been with wearing those masks in the bank robberys and smacking against too many waves whilst surfing :)!!
