ahh, I see. I must have missed when the brother said [sp]he died two years ago. I just recall him saying he died.[/sp]

I guess I was the one who was confused or at least I need my hearing checked. :D

I saw this movie today with my best friend and we both love it.

I love this movie, it was sweet, heart warming, and entertaining. Without being sappy or dragging in parts. And Sandra and Keanu chemistry really sparkled in the film. I hope these two work together on a film again.

I like how they fell in love through letters. How they just talk to each other and slowly love bloomed. I miss that in movies these days, the classic love of two souls interacting by commincating to each other.

There were a few time in the movie when they should have fix the script to work with the concept to make things a little more clear. But I was ok with the interlapping of their lives at certain moments with the two years apart thing.

I love the part where they finally meet and Alex is a typical guy who just wants to kiss the girl he's been longing for all this time. But also Alex was the more open of the two. It was Kate who needed that push to open herself fully to the wonderfulness of the love that they share.

It's definitely a MUST SEE! :P Someone on another forum[Livedaily] posted her review, and I think she explained it beautifully.

This is one of those movies where you have to suspend all of your rational thinking in order to enjoy the film. The magic mailbox doesn't make any sense and if you go in wanting to make sense of it, you won't enjoy the movie.

Here is what you have to do...be romantic. Leave all of your sanity behind and just watch the film as someone that wants to believe love is stronger than anything...then the film transports you and makes everything real.

At its base, it is a movie about hope. About two people fighting against fantastic odds in order to be together. I enjoyed it very much, it is a definite chick flick and that's right up my alley.

The performances were some of the best I've ever seen from Keanu Reeves. It helps that I'm a fan, but beyond that, there is an emotional side of him rarely seen in any of his films. When he cries, its believeable, when he's excited and wanting to leap through time to get to her...you're rooting for him. Sandra Bullock is more toned down than in her other films. She's funny, but she's also the straight guy in this movie, she's the rational thinker.

I found myself wanting to pinch Kate (her character) for being so skeptical. But, that's typical...she does what you as a viewer are doing...approaching the mystery with some caution. So, I loved that the movie found ways to mirror what the audience was feeling.

The letter writing is...beautiful, so real and thoughtful. You watch these two people fall in love without feeling like a voyeur. I don't know if any of you read them, but Nancy Reagan released her husbands letters in a book, thats what this story reminded me of...a love so thoughtful that you want it preserved in writing. Just...a gorgeous way to portray love in a film.

The suspense and twists are great...so if you haven't made up your mind yet to see the film, I hope I've helped.

Does anybody knows of any site or LJ where I can find the movie capped? :look: Because Nora, I can't find anything in the boards you told me. I must be stupid or sth

Btw, sorry about the game *big big hugs* Both teams played very well and really fought for it.

I saw it yesterday on the lot as well. I've heard so many mixed reviews I didn't know what to expect but it did not disappoint. There were some places were you had to suspend your belief, but Keanu & Sandra just make the movie work, you really want them to figure it out and get together. Great performances overall, I can't wait for it to come out on DVD already.
I hope it becomes the romantic sleeper hit this summer, like Notebook.

I went to see the movie today and I really liked it :sigh:.
[sp]
I just loved the scene they had at her birthday party. Them dancing and almost kissing about 3 or 4 times and then finally at the end of the song he kisses her. BTW, does anyone know the name of the song that was playing?[/sp]

Well if they said the house ha some sort of magic to it that makes them live two years apart but still communicate then I'd see it. Because that would help a bit more.

To me it will be like I:love:Huckabees. That movies plotline was confussing and I've seen lit about 5 times on TV and I still don't get what was going on. It was kooky.

ANyway Keanu is so much better as the action type

Bea, :thud:
It is so so gorgeous! :sigh:

I'm glad you liked it. Too bad I will only comment in august, cause I don't want to be spoiled!

It was good but there were loads of plotholes I couldn't really figure out. :)

But it's good to see Keanu and Sandra again.

I definitely enjoyed it. I don't understand why people were confused by it. It made perfect sense to me. Every scene.
