Duh! How can you not get that? But I'm used to watching time travel stuff. Hello? "Back to the future", anyone? :D

I think I'm gonna go see it again tonight. :D

Just a heads up: I've posted a special thread for Sandy and Keanu on the couples board (link is in my sig), so that people can talk about the movie here. :)

I'm glad these two are in it together because they worked really well in Speed.

And it looks like they spend a lot of time apart in this movie, so the chemistry has to be there for the movie to really work.

I'm really interested to how they play this one. I love romance stories like this where people fall in love through letter of just talking to each other and learning each others souls and hearts.

Thank you Nora! :pinkie: I'll watch them as soon as I have my internet :D

I saw that ad the other day in Sandra's website. Yep, it is nice :sigh:

Thank you :D I don't like the blending that much, but oh well :)

rilla_marilla :) But my review in there was the same one than here, just for you to know, lol.

Thanx :D I know this is one of those movies I will feel to watch from time to time

Yep Jay. I have only been able to find 4 of the songs though. The rest are score music and are nowhere to be found it seems :look:

I want to read Persuasion now too.

Sandra was great and I thought her and Keanu had good chemistry.

I unfortunately can't say I loved the movie. I did love the concept but I thought the potential was wasted somehow........I think it was the script itself. It just didn't quite do it for me. Not to mention it was really slow and long in places.

But don't get me wrong..............the movie wasn't a total thumbs down or anything. Parts of it I really liked.

You are forgetting there are more than just teens and comic-book fans who go to the movies during the summer.

This is precisely the attraction this movie has: It is something different other than mindless action geared toward teens. Being a romantic drama appeals to a far larger audience than any action or comic-based film ever will.

Aw, thank you very much for the quotes Nora! :glow: She is right. Just looking at him from photshots and stuff, you get that he is that kind of guy. I remember watching some promotional stuff of 'A walk in the clouds' (since Aitana Sanchez Gijon was on it, it had a lot of publicity here in Spain) and he was so quiet but sweet, and Anthony Quinn only had nice words for him, and same with Aitana

I just got back from seeing the movie. I wrote my thoughts about the film at my LJ. I'm too lazy start from scratch so I'm cutting and pasting.

[sp]In the beginning of the film, a man gets hit by a bus. I figured that it was Keanu's character right off the bat, which kind of took away some of the suspense during later scenes.[/sp]

The movie dragged a bit at certain times. There seemed to be too many instances where the characters would have long pauses during their dialogue or just have conversations that neither entertained or furthered the plot. The drama with Alex and his father was a bit on the uninteresting side as well. I didn't care about what was going on between them, although it did lead to a great scene where [sp]Kate sends Alex a book his father had published before he died and Alex breaks down.[/sp]

The secondary characters were just awful. The actor playing Alex's brother was SO bad. Kate's Mom and co-worker weren't any better. They were too similar. I think that hurt the movie a little bit because Kate and Alex spend so little time together on screen.

Not to be all negative, the movie did have some bright spots. Like the dog, Jack, she was so cute in the movie. I loved the scenes when the dog was interacting with Sandra Bullock's character. Kate would say things to the dog and it actually seemed like it was paying attention and understood. There was one scene where[sp] they were playing chess that was cute.[/sp]

I was happy to see that Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves still got the chemistry. Thank goodness! They made me believe that they cared for each other. SB did a great job of showing her confusion and made her falling in love with Alex believable. I'm a little less enthusiastic about KR's performance. It was a bit lacking, but still not bad. That could be my Sandy bias talking though because I love her more than Keanu.

[sp]The scene at the end, which I knew was going to be my favorite, where she goes to the mailbox to warn Alex about the bus and she just cries out of fear that it didn't get to him in time was awesome! I also loved how when Alex finally did show up he didn't say a word he just kept kissing her. :D[/sp]

All in all, I thought the movie was good, but I wouldn't say it was great. It was a nice love story and although it went a little too slowly at times, the payoff in the end made it all worth it.

I know. It can all be explained! Everyone of those reviewers was like, "how do they have the same dog?" But it's quite clear in the movie!! :) :sigh:

I really liked this movie...and I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find some quotes from it? especially the part where she tells him to stop writing and has the little speech about "what if no one is waiting"...or something like that, where she doubts if a soul mate is out there...

I didn't have enough time to transcribe it from the dvd :(
