The Klansman on Open Access

Quite what purpose this channel serves, apart from displaying an eccentric (to say the least) choice of movies is beyond me.
The Klansman is 1974's entry into the sweaty, violent Deep South race drama genre in the distinguished company of The Chase, Hurry Sundown etc.
The whites are all rednecks, the blacks look like rejects from Shaft and the women are all potential rape victims.
The sheer awfulness of this, understandably, little seen turkey cannot be overstated and Richard Burton's performance is truly astonishing, pitched somewhere between Rod Steiger and Charlton Heston with an accent similar to that of Michael Gambon in Harry Potter and sporting a highly variable limp.
Sadly the scenes in which Terence Young and Lee Marvin were persuaded to take part in it are missing.
I can't wait to see what else is lurking on OA.
