The key to applying a screen protector?

I have a Nokia n73 ME phone and got a pack of a few screen protectors for it. I followed the directions on the package, used a can of comrepssed air to get rid of dust and a piece of microfibre cloth to clean any other fingerprints. After I put the protector on the phone, there is dust underneath it and a few bubbles. Does anyone out there have any tips to applying the screen protector so there's no dust, dirt at all?

Do it in the bathroom just after you have taken a shower so that the steam keeps dust down. Swab down the screen with alcohol and a clean microfibre cloth. Put an entire edge of screen protector in place. Lay down the protector slowly, use a credit card or other hard edge to press behind if necessary.

If you use a quality screen protector like the Durasec ones any small micro bubbles will go away shortly.

Usually what happens is that the bubbles are caused by specs of dust that are stuck between the screen and the screen protector. I've found that the best way to apply a screen protector is to do it seconds after you remove the screen protector that came already on the phone. Also try to do it in a dust free environment, if possible. (It's hard to allow a lab in a hospital to let you in just to apply a screen protector, but I used a computer lab on campus) You also want to apply tape on and off to the screen to get that extra dust off if it won't come off, but don't shift the tape because it will leave sticky streaks. Use a good brand like Martin Fields or Clarivue, and you're good to go. It's hard, but not impossible. I recommend Clarivue because they give you two in case you screw up the first time.

I'm not sure who makes them for Palm, but i have had fantastic luck with the screen protectors sold by Palm for the Treo's.

I applied one of the them as soon as I got my E61, and you can't even tell that there IS a protector on the screen.

using a credit card and taking it very slowly is key!

Meh, I gave up on screen protectors. When it came time to cleaning the lint outta the little cracks, I had to take it off. and I couldn't get it back on without having dust under there, so I got frustrated and figured that if I ever scratched the screen I would just buy a new facia. So far no scratches.

if u manage to get some dust particles stuck to the sticky side of the protective plastic,u can wash it in running wanter, and let it dry and try to apply it again.if u get air bubbles without any dust in them u can smooth them out with ur thumbs by rubbing them towards the edge of the screen.
