The Water Cycle (also called the Hydrological Cycle) has these major steps for water drops:
1) Evaporation/Transpiration - Evaporation from lakes, oceans, and other water sources makes clouds. Water is also drawn from Plants through Transpiration.
2) Precipitation - When the clouds become dense or saturated with water vapor, rain will likely occur.
3) Absorption - The rain is likely used by plants and other organisms.
4) Percolation - If the rain is not used by plants, the water drips through soil and into groundwater, where it somehow finds its way back to a bigger water source.
