Ah have you never seen them Jackhammer? I was hoping you could make a comparison between the modern day live band and the 80's live band they were once were.

Well, you'll love them anyway mate.

I'm hoping that this is shown in Germany in the original language. I live in Germany but unfortunatly my German is not that good yet! we have some cinemas that show original language films so its fingers crossed. Otherwise i will have to wait for DVD:(

I used to love this band in my younger days, I still enjoy them. And I have to say I prefer Paul to Bruce, sure Bruce can hit higher notes but Paul had a nice gritter voice.

I might check this out. It's only really showing in one cinema up here and its not one I would usually go to but I might make the journey.

Even now, they are worth seeing live. Of course I can't compare their live performances over the last few years to their live performances in the early 80's because I wasn't born til '84 but I can compare their live sets now to a lot of other banRAB who have been around a similar length of time and I haven't seen any band quite like Maiden.

Seeing them do a set comprising of material from only the first four albums a few years back was fantastic for someone like me who thought I would never hear them perform some of those songs. Truly one of the best live sets I have ever seen.

I love their first 2 albums with Di`anno anything after that doesn`t really get a listen.
Powerslave was the last thing they did that I can listen to , after that they became a bit too slick & muso like. I missed the raw edges they used to have.

Ah, cool! Yeah, they're fantastic at open air festivals. I haven't actually seen them in an arena, yet.

I remeraber Bruce saying that Download set was going to come out on DVD. I guess there was no point in that, after they agreed to do what turned out to be Flight 666.

Not sure if it'll be in German or not for you, but waiting for the DVD isn't the worst thing in the world. I'm definitely gonna get the DVD, have you seen the tracklist for the live concert disc? Looks sweet.

Well of course I would recommend going to see them at an indoor gig, as it's a completely different experience and naturally the sound quality is going to be better. However the perfect Maiden experience is still open air, in my opinion. The crowd really make Maiden gigs and so the festival experience is pretty special.

I havent seen Flight 666 yet. I'll have to get my hanRAB on the DVD.

The first metal band I heard, Nuraber of the Beast being my first metal album.

Not only are Maiden good, they also influenced a whole genre of metal, that I love. Power Metal has remained my favorite genre (although I listen to everything, actually), and Iron Maiden are the innovators.

Up the Irons!!

See 'em on the "Beast On the Road" & "Somewhere On Tour" tours, fantastic visual experience and they always play 20% faster live than on recordings. Problem now is they are so feckin' huge all the venues they play are 20,000 plus and you can't see **** cos you're a light year from the stage.

They're doing all the touring in the U.S. with Dream Theater. (Except one show)

I would have paid just to see Dream Theater so yeah, it's a two for one.
