The Incredible Hulk

I too liked the 1970s series, but the style of the Hulk in it always bugged me. Ok, they were limited by what they could achieve back then, but he was nothing like the comic book Hulk, he looked what he was, a guy painted green. Big deal, what's the threat?. At the end of the day the Hulk is a big green monster, a mutated human so it makes perfect sense to use current technology to create a mutated human. Afterall. the film neeRAB to do the comic character justice not the old TV series.

Saw this yesterday and thought it was fantastic, a huge improvement on the Ang Lee version.

Was never a massive fan of The Hulk as a kid (preferred The Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man etc) but the film is great, loaRAB of little noRAB to the Marvel fans out there and a sweet cameo from RDJ at the end which is leading up to The Avengers :D

Thought The Abomination was rubbish though

I think the film was ended rather too abruptly... should have explained more on the fate of that abomination and you know, ....Mr Blue! I bet he will be the next villain since he's a genius and rather obsessed.

I saw it yesterday and I was not very impressed. I wouldn't say that I was disappointed; more that I was confused.

The film started with lots of newspaper headlines and old media reports of things that happened earlier, and the first caption said "Days without incident: 158". It gave the distinct impression that it was like a sequel, and we were coming in half way through the story, with a lot of background information that we weren't told about properly.

I watched the TV series in the 1970s, but otherwise I am not familiar with any of the comics or other films. Is this film supposed to be a sequel to the other Hulk film from a few years ago?

When Robert Downey jnr appeared at the end, I thought "Oh! That's Robert Downey jnr, and he looks just like he did in 'Iron Man'." (I only watched "Iron Man" a few days ago, otherwise I wouldn't have known who he was) but I didn't realise he was supposed to be the same character appearing in a different film.

The Incredible Hulk is an independent film that is not a sequel to the Ang Lee film. However, they decided not to make it an origin film, but elude to the fact that the Hulk already exists. So I guess it allows fans to take the Ang Lee film some sort of 'prequel' if they so desire.

The RDJ appearance is down to Marvel now trying to make a continuity between films about their characters. Unlike the DC comics films, Marvel superhero adaptations have been made by various studios, thus crossovers has been unlikely. Now that Marvel is releasing their own films they can connect them. Its a shame that Spiderman and the X-men can't be connected in the same reality.

Not really as those franchises are essentially self contained universes.

Spider-Man joining the Avengers is quite possibly the worst (sales led) decision in comic book history so thank **** it'll never happen on the big screen.

That's my point, they are independent so if Marvel wished to use the Spider-man character, it would have to be a different version to the one in the existing films tus not drawing on any elements from those stories. But it is unlikely for the foreseeable future that they would use Spider-man or any of the X-Men.

I'm not really a big fan of the Avengers anyway so I don't care if that film happens or not.

I meant they were essentially independent in the comic books.

The X-Men rarely showed up on the radar of other Marvel titles.

Spidey admittedly did have his team up title but even that was standalone throwaway stories that never impacted on the story arcs in the main titles.

Wow, just seen this film and loved it!!! I liked the first one, but this one was just so much better!
Edward Norton is one of my favourite actors too, so I liked seeing him play something different.

There was a few bits in the film which I thought "how did that happen" or "how did they get there" so to speak, as on "Hulk" you saw Hulk jumping around continents to get places, but through most of this film, it was just cut and the new scene would be in the new area. Nothing major though.

Three things that made me extremely happy in this film though is

1. Thunder Clap
2. Ground Pound
3 "HULK SMASH"

Can't wait for the Bluray release :D:D:D:D:D:D
