The Hub, Discovery and Hasbro's rebranded, reorganized, transformed reincarnation of Discovery Kids, relaunches on Sunday, October 10, 2010. That's 10/10/10.

Broadcasting and Cable has the very first look at what the network will feel like. The upfronts are coming in a couple of weeks, so watch this space.

What a coincidence. The Sega Dreamcast launched in the U.S. on "9/9/99"; "9/9/09" was the tenth anniversary.

In any case, I look forward to what kind of shows the Hub will have.

However I wish they would do something with there website. I check it once in a while to see if anything other then the press relesaee shows up.

According to Animation Magazine:

Interesting. I don't know if any of the Hasbro shows will be new or not, still, another channel with some familiar shows from the past has the potential to be pretty good. I've never watched Discovery Kids much, so it remains to be seen how much I'll watch The Hub.

With My Little Pony and Transformers as their big gets, it looked like nothing original was going to be coming out of The Hub.
But then there’s this:

Finally!
Only after around a hundred years of quantum mechanics do we get a cartoon series about it for 6 year olds.

LOL. :D It will be interesting to see how they balance the mindless entertainment shows with the educational ones. Shows like Kenny the Shark and Grossology are very good but sadly have been overlooked. Maybe now they'll get a chance.

I'm honestly not very excited for yet another network that is going to be airing cartoons, my time is filled up between Cartoon Network, Nicktoons and Disney XD, I really don't have time for another network unless they are going to be airing something that is going to blow my socks off. A new Tranformers series bundled with a new G.I Joe series just isn't enough to turn my head, it's going to be up to the rest of the programming schedule as to whether I am going to be supporting this new venture or not.

The more the merrier. The more cartoon channels the better the competition which produces better shows and more variety. Whether CN, and the Nick and Disney channels see this as competition will become apparent in the future, but either way something good may come out of this so I'm staying optimistic. I definitely hope the new Transformers series is cool.

Science-shows and 80's based shows? Sounds great to me!
Except... at first I thought this was going to be a Saturday morning cartoon block on one of the lower channels... but it's going to be a cable channel that I don't get, isn't it ? :( Phooey.

Well it might be both. It's a revamp of Discovery Kids which is both a channel and a Saturday morning block so perhaps both will be reworked as The Hub.

I can see it now... "Today's episode will be guest starring Sir Roger Penrose!"

In all seriousness though this does sound like it will be good.

Disvoery Kids hasn't been a Saturday morning block for three or four years now. It was a Saturday morning block until they decided to create their own channel. At that time NBC decided to let them go, and they started up Qubo.

I was wondering when this network was going surface. For those of you who never watched Discovery Kids, it is/was a great network. The only problem was they hardly repeat, except for weekends, so if you missed an episode you're out of luck until the series cycles back around.

This is the talkback thread for Hasbro Studios Developing 25 Productions for 'The Hub'.

Interesting. They’ve recently registered trademarks for G.I. Joe Renegades, My Little Pony and Transformers Prime, in which all of their descriptions mention an animated television program. Similar trademarks were registered for Pound Puppies Undercover and Jem And The Holograms. It’s hard to say whether all of these trademarks are for new shows, but based on what we already know – in addition to how the descriptions for these trademarks mention animated programs – it’s easy to put two and two together. All of those trademarks were registered this year as well.

I am really interested in The Hub.

Whoa Jem and Holograms. That truly, truly outrageous.

I gonna take guess new Star Wars comedy that was announced a few weeks back is one of 25 productions that going to appear on the Hub(Hasbro does have the toy license for the franchise).

I'm very excited for The Hub and not because of new shows featuring the Hasbro characters but because it's something new.

Will this station be a brand new network, or a renaming/reformat of discovery kids? I do have DK on my cable package, but wouldnt mind having this channel.
