The Hub announces voice casts for several shows

Hold on. They're making new Pound Puppies, GI Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony cartoons!? I can't believe I didn't hear about that.

As for the casting...the celebrity casting for Pound Puppies seems a bit silly considering that show's target demographic is children too young to know or care who Betty White and Eric McCormick are. But whatever.

I wonder if the new Pound Puppies series will have Cooler and the original crew from the 80's series. I think that Katrina Stoneheart, Bratina, Holly, and Captain Slaughter are HB's property (Not sure where Whopper's rights sit since he was created for the HB show), but the rest I'm positive are Hasbro's trademarks.

It's nice that Charlie Adler is playing Cobra Commander again. Was really hoping that Steve Blum could play Duke again, but alas, it isn't so. :(

Also, more Peter Cullen is always good. I think I'll watch Prime just because Cullen is in it. :3

Lee Majors  , what the heck? Well if they got Lee Majors I hope he plays General Colton or General Hawk. General Colton would make a lot more sense though.

I bet Clancy Brown will play Destro. Not sure who else he could feasibly play.

Can anyone tell me what Dan Vs. is?

Also I can't find anything about how I would watch the Hub when it starts. There's nothing on their website. Will it even be available to Time Warner subscribers?

EDIT, ok I see Discovery Kids is essentially becoming The Hub. Is Discovery Kids separate from Discovery Channel or part of the same network? is Discovery Kids on Time Warner?

I will go off topic a bit to answer your question...

Discovery Kids is a seperate channel from Discovery. It is not a block on Discovery if that's what you meant. If it's on Time Warner Cable I would think that the channel number varies by area (possibly). You may want to check the Time Warner Cable website or check your channel guide.

Hope I helped :)

The semi-celebrity studded voice casts for these shows is what Sony's done for every single cartoon they've produced since the late '90s and Hasbro studios is made up solely of vets from Sony's animation division, so this isn't a huge shock. Big Guy & Rusty the Boy Robot starred Jim Hanks, of all people.

When you have your studio headed by Stephen J. Davis, you get his Rolodex too. Don't know how he keeps bringing in people not known for voice acting, but I'm not complaining, long as they're good

Not if you know your history. Pretty much every Sony cartoon is known for having a semi-celebrity studded voice cast, and given that Hasbro Studios is just Sony Animation with a new name, it's no surprise they'd keep up many of the same practices.

Yes, I understand that but I believe they would push it to the limit with this because it is a new network. Basically that is all I was trying to say there.

Jim Hanks is actually pretty known for voice acting and frequently comes in to do stuff that sounds like Tom Hanks. Like I think Jim Hanks did all the non-movie animation for Woody for Toy Story.

Yeah but he had experience doing voice acting and also, Jim Hanks isn't exactly a big celebrity or movie star especially no more so than Colin Hanks.
