You can read the full press release (with series descriptions) here.

So The Hub got both Deltora Quest and Twisted Whiskers? They show quite a bit of clout already to do that considering Cartoon Network should've beaten The Hub to both series.

I've actually heard of The 99. There was a lot of coverage about the Middle Eastern heroes when the comics came out. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that The Hub picked up an animated version of it.

And Deltora Quest too? Nice. Still find it kind of funny the show is on Cartoon Network globally except Canada and the US. Oh well, Cartoon Network's loss is The Hub's gain. Ditto for Twisted Whiskers, which had been optioned for Cartoon Network for a couple of years now.

I think that out of all of this, the most pleasant surprise is Fraggle Rock being on The Hub at launch. Loved that show when I was a kid, and I can't wait to see how this generation reacts to it.

The Hub's going to be a fun network.

Dan Vs. has me intrigued. I don’t really know that much about it, but it’s the animated program that The Animation Guild talked about a few days ago and its description leads me to believe that it will be one of their primetime shows meant for the whole family. At any rate, it’s nice to see them pick up Twisted Whiskers. Bill Schultz seemed confident that they would find another network for it when I conversed with him earlier this year and it seems that he was right. I’m still not a fan of the character desgins, and believe the 2D storyboards were much cuter, but its actually animated rather well based on what little I saw.

Advertising Age has an article up with a bit more information; highlights include…

I heard of The 99 a couple years ago, and I was wondering what happened with that property. Nice to see that The Hub picked it up.

That villain certainly lacks? subtlety. He practically says ?I?M EVIL! JOIN ME!? during that speech at 2:13. At least he has a nice evil goatee to go along with it.

At first, I was concerned when that Hasbro was spreading themselves too thin with 25 shows. I should have known that most of it was acquisitions and partnerships with other studios. It seems Hasbro Studios is limiting itself to 4 cartoons and a game show for now.

As for Pound Puppies, I found out that a story editor for the show named Bart Jennett. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/bart-jennett/5/403/b18
Apparently, he also worked on Disney's Recess. Seems appropriate for this kind of show. Also, did anyone catch the Stalag 17 reference in the full description of the show? ;)

Some of these new series sound pretty cool, like Transformers Prime, G.I. Joe Renegades, R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, and Deltora Quest.

Since I don't get Discovery Kids, I probably won't be able to experience any of the shows on The Hub. :( That sucks, because then I might watch satellite TV more often.

Oh well, I can always hope that some of these shows will get DVD releases, in the future.

Man, I hope I get the Hub in Bennettsville, South Carolina by the launch date, because if they don't carry it on my MetroCast cable package, I'm gonna shoot my cable provider, because from the look of all those shows posted, This is going to be one "Truly Outrageous Real American Heroic Network that's going to be More Than Meets the Eye!"

And man, the new Jem series hasn't been thought of yet!

One can dream.

Kenny McCall - It's on MetroCast Digital Channel 212

Kevin The Geek - Not certain what your primary service is, but if you have Charter, it's on Digital Channel 119. If you have U-Verse, it's on 335. DirecTV? 294. Dish? 179. SkyAngel? Smeg out of luck, my friend.

Right where Discovery Kids is currently on your dial.

Deltora Quest is yet another anime CN lost out on. But I'll watch it, and the new GI Joe and Transformers series. This channel could be good, like Disney XD.

So this is where Twisted Whiskers went...definitely looking forward to that.

Do all of these debut on October 10 or the week of October 10?

Way too early to know. I'm sure most of them will. They'll need a lot of new programming to launch the network with, in order to show that the network's not just Discovery Kids with a new name (which it's most definitely not).

Deltora Quest? Interesting.

Looking forward to new Joes and Transformers (Cullen as Prime ftw!).

And several other interesting originals and acquisitions. The Hub means business.

The 99 and Dan Vs. seem to stick out like a sore thumb amongst all the toyetic shows.

I'll give those, and Deltora Quest, a chance. The rest doesn't interest me much.

So The Hub ended up with Deltora's Quest huh? Good for them, this network looks to be shaping up to be pretty cool but I still have my doubts as to whether it can succeed with the ammount of competition thats out there and the fact that it's only going to be offered on a premium cable package. That aside, I do wish Hasbro good luck in their venture and I also hope that they gain more big aquisitions before the launch of their network, they are definitley on the right track if you ask me.

I do have one question though, is the Fraggle Rock show they aquired the same show that aired the 80's or is this a revamp of the franchise with brand new episodes?

I'm pretty sure "Fraggle Rock" is the original 1983-1987 TV series.

Meanwhile...

...which is exactly what worries me, since as it just said, he voiced him in said movies. Furthermore, Kurtzman and Orci have been announced as the "Showrunners" for this series. "Showrunner" is industry talk for a(n executive?) producer. The fact that they're going to be producing this show casts an even bigger shadow of doubt over me watching this show. I mean it, I'm not going to watch it if it's set in the movie continuity, and even if it isn't, I may (repeat: "may) also not watch it if it has the same production values (which is a long story, plus I already discussed this in a previous thread about this network).

In any case, don't get the wrong idea, I want to watch this show, but not if it isn't it's own thing, and not if it's just going to be another "personal vision" (again however, I had already talked about that elsewhere).
