The House just passed a bill - ISPs to record 1 yr of Internet Activity

I mean really who does Hollywood and the entertainment industry have a better relationship with. The republicans or the democrats? Easy question there. Not even under that asshat Bush did we see the powers within the Patriot act and other forms of legislation specifically passed as "counter terrorism" turned around and used against US citizens for such bullshit as copyright violations, file sharing, and even defaulting on student loans. This county is sinking faster than the water can be bailed out, but it's still idiots like Fuddy who want to blame one fucking party as the source of all the trouble.

it goes way deeper than that bro. Imagine the magnitude of what this bill would bring if it's passed. I think most of us are in shock right now but when the dust settles and if this bill is passed, we are well on our way to so much fail it's not even funny.

;143180734']depenRAB how far they raise the debt ceiling. I hope they make it a civic duty that they send you someone else internet recorRAB and you have to review them as part of cutting the cost of enforcement.

The 19 to 10 vote represents a victory for conservative Republicans, who made data retention their first major technology initiative after last fall's elections

I thought that the Republican Party was all about less government control of people?

Well? Is it?

Account info and assigned IP addrresses. These types of logs already exist btw. Seems like this Bill would just force ISPs to keep them for much longer

This isn't about directly recording all web activity like most people seem to think it is.

yes. They've been building government datacenters at an incredible pace all over the NoVA area since 2005. This has been a long time in the works and all they needed was enough distraction from the issue to pass it.
