I have a weird question...

I was hoping you guys could tell me your studying habits. I can't seem to study and keep everything I learned in my head. I want to know how everyone here goes about studying. How many hours you put in a day (or a week) doesn't matter if you are in high school or College/University.

I just want to know how others go about it.

Do you use cue cards or re-write the important things down?
Where do you usually study (library, at home etc)
How do you keep your focus? (my mind wanders and wanders, I can't quite concentrate on what I'm reading)

I'm asking this because I have a bunch of tests I need to do before the end of June as well as a big provincial exam and I need to be able to study and actually remember what I'm studying. I'm at my Community College finishing off my High school..I'm doing Biology and there's a LOT you need to know in Biology. I've been getting high scores on the assignments but every time I go and do the tests I end up forgetting almost everything I've studied...and I'm more nervous about the Provincial exam than anything else because that IS what will be telling me if I graduate or not.

Help? What's a question that should never be asked and why? Creative answer please.

It's always better when a teacher gives a more precise description of an assignment--so frustrating to have to deal with a subject that is too broad. Anyway, here's a poem by English poet Stevie Smith:

Not Waving But Drowning

Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.

Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.

Ok, another history question, desperately needed for Saturday.

What were the developments in US foreign policy b/n 1973 - 1989?

Hey guys, I have a little project and I was wondering if you could help me.
Its for our building material class (yeah I dont know how to translate the name ) and we've been asked to get pictures from new buildings in which theres something wrong with the building material, I tried searching for it but I didnt know what to search for so if you guys have any pictures or know what I should type in the search box itd be a great help. :D

Does your library at school have Photoshop? You can take 2 images and combine them through layering.

I'm good at math, at least I like to think I am  What are you having troubles with?

hey, I think I should ask here :)
I have to choose a poem to comment on it .. and I really don't know which one to pick .. ( english one)
If you know some great poems, ones that fascinated you .. please let me know

It would have been more easier If my teacher would have given us a title or something

Here you go. I did advanced search on China's google page to pick up reviews on this movie from China's websites that were written in English.

?

it's not really homework but I'll be finishing my research paper in the next two days (hopefully) and I'd really need someone to proof read it.
It's really important because it's over 50% of my grade for my adanced english class... and I don't want it ruined by stupid typing mistakes

it would be great if someone would be able to help :flowers:

Do you mean newspaper articles on solar power (I like the NYTimes for good newspaper articles) or do you mean more academic scholarly articles? (It would help if you have something specific to say about solar power. The links I gave are kind of all over the place.)

Hope they help though. I haven't read them so I don't know if they will.

That's okay, thanks :)
I hope so too, I'm looking over books, asking to my friends, going to extra classes, I'm trying anything to improve my grade, I've never been so bad at a subject in my life

Hey all ,

I have this question , I hope someone can help me out
I'm preparing for this analysis report for my Art history class , basically Its about any portrait , sculpture , painting which dates back to the Renaissance . Now , the first part I should submit is a 3 page progress report . I read the instructions my instructor gave out but I still dont necessarily understand how should I go on about it

this is what the instructions say

The progress report must be limited to a maximum of 3 pages. Do not provide a mini analysis report! The report should include:
- page 1 (cover): illustration and brief identification of the work
- page 2: text describing which aspects of your work are relevant
- page 3: a preliminary list of sources which you have identified

I understand page 1 , Im guessing a picture of the painting with identifications such as date , artist etc..
Page 2 , I dont get , is it supposed to be a text describing the work and research that I have done so far in regards to my report ?
I'm sorry if it seems pretty straight forward but I have never done a progress report before and I want to get it right .

Hope there is someone around here who has done something like this and can give a bit of a clarification
Thanks ! :D

Try searching for "solar power" at Healthy Living With a Twist - LIME. It's a great website with lots of links on environmental and health issues. I did a quick search there and there were lots of links to follow.

Hi, I don't have a "homework" doubt, it's just "work" but I didn't know in what thread to post this..........does anybody here teach kids? I've been having some trouble with my students, every class there's a little fight. I mean, not physical fights, just teasing, you know? If they work in groups there are issues, if they work in pairs, same thing, if they work individually same thing too, if it's a regular activity from the book, if it's a game, whatever you do with them, someone will always find a way to ruin things, this is so annoying, and it frustrates me, because it wasn't like this in the first semester.

It's a small group of kids, there are only boys in the classroom, 7 of them. In the first semester there were only 5, and it was perfect. Now ever since the 2 new ones started, every class I have someone complaining, crying or whining about something or someone. What should I do? :( Is there anything I could do to make them get along better? :(

If anyone can help me, here or even via PM, thanks in advance

They would be adjectives. They would describing relief.

Adjectives describes Nouns and Pronouns.

Adverb: describes Verbs, they usually end with-ly or not.

verbs: are action, linking or helping.

I think I got you somewhat unconfused.

Is this for class? My immediate reaction is that these lyrics have a sexual connotation that is fairly obvious.
