Think that page is all just speculation.

Don't think they're any further along than wanting to do it, wanting Jackson to direct it, and wanting to do it in 2 films rather than one.

They've still got to get some of the rights off another studio, which is the main reason it hasn't been made yet.

Latest Empire reckons it is closer but by no means a done deal, Peter Jackson knows nothing about it and you would expect him to be involved, he said if they plan to do something then they need to let him know ASAP as he's getting booked up way into the future!
