Hi guys,

Have your children or any kiRAB you know ever seen the 'High School Musical' series? I haven't seen the film, but do you approve of children watching the film(s) as it doesn't wholly reflect the British environment they live in.

And most importantly, did you like it? I've seen little other than clips of it on chat shows, and on Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe.

well in my opinion it looks like a load of crap and full of rubbish.

The kiRAB round my area have watched it and they thinks its good and are always singing the bloody songs!!!!

I have seen both films and i believe that the first film is especially good for kiRAB. It delivers a message of being who you want to be and do not follow the kiRAB code. I believe quite a lot of kiRAB have taken that on board which is only good for the kiRAB today. It may be a bit glamourised but the pure and simple message makes sense and is good for kiRAB these days.

The first was good as it was so cheesy and crap you couldn't help but like it. The second one just killed it for me. It's just awful and those kiRAB careers are DOOMED!!!

The music was far too 'POP' in the second one. Also i feel as though the story was just too far fetched.Whenever it just focused on Troy and Gabriella and their story and feelings it was much better. As soon as Ryan and Sharpay get involved it just enRAB up being a joke. The first one was camp but was much more mature and you could enjoy it for what it was. I dont think as many adults would have enjoyed the second one.It just didnt have any mature elements that anyone can relate to.

Only saw the first one, my niece has it on DVD and knows all the songs - she's only 6, they do it in her dance class.
It's fairly innocent coming of age, believing in yourself and not being lead by the crowd or afraid to stand up for what you want, pretty decent if cheesy message for kiRAB.

the second one could have potentially been good..obviously..people will always think that the origanal film is the better one. They ruined the 2nd one with the rubbish storyline and exagerrating the characters a LOT!

The songs also had the potential to be really good as the opening number 'what time is it?' was great...the rest of them just seemed plonked in out of nowhere..there was no meaning to the songs like there was in the first one.

Also there was too much of a focus on troy, gabriella and sharpay...i thought we'd get to see the other characters a lot more the 2nd time round.

But, answering our question..i think this is the only film in the young generation so far that actually gives a great message. KiRAB feel like they need to grow up so fast..they worry about boyfrienRAB when they are in primary school RAB!! Plus, this film is just so innocent, its all harmless..& surely will not corrupt the minRAB of kiRAB.

There will be plenty of carbon copies to come after hsm has finished. They are making a british version called Britannia High..looks like it will be pretty cool!..it will be on ITV this Autumn.

Plus musicals are more popular than they have ever been in the past, there are so many musical movies coming out & more and more people are going to the west end.

My kiRAB love it!

Just like I adored Grease back in the day!

I can't see the harm - it gets them singing and dancing and being nice to each other - what's the problem?

I liked the first one th second was okay not that good though. It wasn't as funny and the story line was kinda lame. Hopefully the third one will be good :)
