When I bought the car it wouldn't switch at all and would only blow out the defrost vents.
I found out it was the "EC Controller?" and had that replaced with a used one. Once all was said and done it worked, but it took 5-10 minutes for it to switch between the vents and even then it still sort of blows out of the ones it's not set to blow out of. Also if I have it on recirculate it will only blow out of the defrost vents. I told the mechanic about it and he said they could get another part at no charge, but I'd have to pay for labor again ($130) which I couldn't afford.
The thing is that it does switch now, but it takes a long time, and sometimes it doesn't work at all unless I keep switch the modes back and forth then wait for a couple of minutes. Is this a bad EC Controller or could it be something else?
