Rob Zombie's El Superbeasto well actually get its chance to be viewed the big screen...For one night.

From Cartoonbrew.com:
That's too bad. I was one of the few who wished that El Superbeasto was coming out in theaters instead of direct to DVD movie. Now that it will be getting it's moment on the silver screen I'm kind of disappointed it will only be out for one night. Oh well, take it or leave it I guess.

You can click here to see if there will be screening near you. For those who are unfamiliar with El Superbeasto there is a SFW youtube trailer.

Now since I pushed the subject out, I'm curious to know what people on the TZ forums think about the movie so far. Based on the trailer and promotional images, is it something you're looking forward to seeing or skipping? Are you excited or interested at least that it is one of the very few adult animated films to be released this year? (Probably the only one to be released in the past few years).

Personally I find the crude humor and over the top sexual content to be quite refreshing.

I like the animation in the trailer. Has that "SpongeBob meets Disney" quality going on.

Unfortunately, the movie isn't playing anywhere near me, so Blu-ray is pretty much going to be my only option.

I was too, if only to push the number of Best Animated Feature nominees to five this year.

I don't know if I care enough about this to make it to the theater, but it could be funny.

I would like to see it, but I don't see myself going over to New York (which is a couple hours away) to watch a movie. I guess I'll just have to wait until it's released on DVD.

I can see this becoming a cult classic in a few years. It looks like a filthy Disney movie, the animation looks very expressive and great. It's boasting such an impressive cast (Paul Giamatti, Rosario Dawson, Brian Posehn) I can't imagine why it isn't getting even a limited theatrical release at the least.

Are distributors afraid of it?

I just hope I can find a way to get to see this on September 12th, My brother is out of town on that day and I am NOT missing out on this one.

I agree with everyone that the animation of this looks great. I just hope that Zombie plans on doing more adult animated films in the future...

I have to give Zombie kudos on this one, never been a big Rob Zombie fan, but he truly poured a lot of his soul into this animated flick. It originally began as a $1.5 million dollar indie animated movie produced out of his pocket, it then ballooned to $10 million dollars in budget because he wanted to make sure it was one hell of a good animated flick. The co-director of this is Doug 'Mr.' Lawrence who worked on Spongebob, Rocko's Modern Life, and Ren & Stimpy, he's also the voice of Plankton.

A lot of the animators are ex-Disney animators too that Zombie picked up after Disney shuttered its traditional animation doors. This film has basically been in production since 2006, and it was funded completely from Rob himself. That's pretty impressive.

As much as I'd like to see it I'm not driving to Tempe or Tucson for it. I'll have to wait for DVD.

It does look good. Although I'm biased and will buy anything Rob Zombie produces.

I havn't quite seen this movie....yet, but I recall some voice-actors being in the movie from the Myspace of El Superbeastro

Tom Papa (is that the right name)
Tom Kenny
Joe Alasky
Rob Paulson
Jess Harnell (Suprised to see his name in the cast)

i've been waiting for this for quite a while.....come on, brian posehn? you can't lose. is it still rated nc-17 or x (isn't that the reason why it took forever to finally be released?)?

i'll probably take a train to ny to catch this
