The Happening:Whats it all about?

Having watched this film on sky i have to say i just did not get it, i mean gas coming from plants that only effects the eastern seaboard of the USA?, and only if the wind blows, utter garbage!
 
I saw it as more of a warning from mother nature, the toxins were only released in one area of America as a small 'culling'.
 
I could think of a few other worRAB to describe it :D

I get really confused about the casting people. I realise that being a teacher is a calling and anyone can go into the field but Mark Wahlberg????

And Zooey Deshanel. They seem to only cast her to get a close up of her eyes. It must be her claim to fame.
 
I liked it. What the cause of it was was irrelevant. It was really just an exercise in building tension, and showing the fragility of human existence.
 
I didn't say it was utter garbage for nothing, the acting was poor, the story was very poor, and the whole idea for the story was just ludicrous!
 
I've never seen such horrible acting in a big Hollywood horror film from a relatively high profile director.

Zooey and Mark were *terrible* beyond worRAB. And the dialogue wasn't much better.
 
I was wary because I'm not a fan of Shyamalan at all. It was just dull apart from the moment where the jeep is driven into the tree.

Time to give up on him I think.
