The guy I sold my car to never picked it up, now I found out he is in jail,

what do I do? I signed the title over to him and took the plates off the car but he never picked the car up. After some checking I found out he is in jail. Does he own my car? He paid for it in cash. Is there an issue leaving it in my driveway?
 
He owns your car... he's paid for it, and you signed over the title.

Whether or not there is an issue leaving it in your driveway is totally up to you. If you're cool with it remaining there until he gets his legal problems cleared up, that's your prerogative.

If he's going to be in jail for a long time and you don't want the car there, you can call the police and have it towed to impound.
 
If he paid for it and you signed the title over he owns it. Contact him in Jail and tell him it must be removed from your property surely he has a friend or relative that will come and get it. You can always have it towed as abandoned but it would go to impound and would be cruel as an alternative. Try and arrange something with him.
 
It's not your car once you accepted payment and signed over the title.

His being in jail has no bearing upon the ownership issue.

You can have your former vehicle towed or contact the jail where he is incarcerated to determine if he wishes to appoint a family member to see to his personal matters with his car!
 
does he own the car? well he paid you and you signed off on it so... yeah, he bought it.

if you have an issue with leaving it in your drive, you should maybe call him and ask what he wants to do. maybe he can get a family member to move it.
