Well, I can bravely say, though I am a Filipino that I am a great fan of American history. I truly believe that the Emancipation Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln is one of the great moments of American history. I am also aware that it did little good to the situation of the slaves but it did open the minds of the Americans, and one of the few who acted way beyond after the proclamation is Martin Luther King.
Another great moment of the Americans is when the catholic John F. Kennedy won the election. Another thumbs up for the Americans for a great choice.
