The greatest anime of all-time??

IMO, DBZ. Most popular in the US however would probably go in this order.

-Pokemon
-Dragon Ball/Z/GT
-Speed Racer
-Yu-Gi-Oh!
-Naruto
-Gundam

There are still many others I haven't mentioned cuz the list goes on and on.
 
I will give it to G Gundam and Master Asia's crazy antics.

Or perhaps Gintama because it easily, genuinely, made me laugh out loud on many occasions. Cartoons usually don't do that to me. Would someone please bring it over to the U.S.?
 
But if you're discussing the Naruto TV show, the filler is effectively the only original thing brought to the table. Therefore the filler is the Naruto TV show.
 
There is no such thing as the "best" anime of all time, since it would be impossible for everyone to agree on 1 single anime to be the best of them all.

You could ask what most people have as their personal favorite anime of all time, and that would be a different story.

As for me, my #1 favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop. But, overall, I really like it just as much as my #2 favorite anime. So, usually, when I list down my favorites, I just say that my top 2 favorite anime are Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho.

I'm sure that plenty of people would agree with me on Cowboy Bebop, if I said that it was the best, but I can guarentee that almost nobody would agree with me on YYH.

The point is, though, that I couldn't call either of my favorites the best, since there would also be plenty of people who would disagree with me, on what I think is the best.
 
Exactly. Everyone has different tastes and opinions, so it would be extremely difficult to have everyone agree that one particular anime is the best of the best. As mentioned earlier, being popular or being financially successful does not mean that that series is the best. A person's personal favorite anime would be a better question to ask, but that would be different, as you mentioned here.

My personal favorite anime are Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!. I've enjoyed both series for years and while Yu-Gi-Oh!, and its two spin-oRAB, GX and 5D's, have a much better and stronger storyline and character development than Pokemon, I can't really rank them since I love both series so much and they both help me to relax and feel happy.
 
I can't say what the greatest anime is because that goes by opinion but from what I like..

1: Eyeshield 21- I will admit Eyeshield did have it's really bad episodes but I can tell that was filler, but besides that it was really a good series. It kept me going until the end and the characters in it were just awesome and creative. Even though the big games were like 12 episodes long xD.Seriously this series is so good you don't even have to like football, because really I don't like it much to begin with.

2:One piece- A crazy wacky tale of pirates that can make anyone like it if they just gave it a good shot. Personally I thought One piece was a bit weak in the beginning but as the story goes it just becomes amazingly awesome.

Eyeshield 21 and One piece are the only things I will call really awesome from what I seen. Bleach and Naruto fail due to filler and really slow paces which make you want to fall asleep sometimes. Yet Bleach has approved quite a bit but I still can't call it the greatest, and I heard Naruto is at least showing it's awesomeness from time to time.
 
Oh, another candidate, Honoo no Tenkousei aka Blazing Transfer Student, this is a 1991 OVA that was made by GAINAX, and created by Kazuhiko Shimamoto (the creator of Meito Anizawa/Anime Tencho and the character designer of G Gundam)

It is an epic comedy classic!!
