The great gatsby- essay?

I want to write an essay about the portrayal of women in the novel- portraying them as too reliant on men and reluctant to want independence but I'm having trouble thinking of major points for my paragraphs. I would be very grateful if firstly, you think this statement is true and some points to start me off.
