Alright, the question that has been asked probably thousands of times already. However before I begin, let me just note that I have searched and researched but am still unsure.

I am trying to decide on a new Macbook or a PC Laptop. However I can not decide which one to choose.

My computing habits are as follows,

* I enjoy videogames, games such as The Sims (I plan to purchase the sims 3), Call of Duty, SimCity... I did not enjoy WoW.

* I browse the web alot and would like a laptop that connects to wireless internet and wired internet as I do travel Alto.

* I have thousands of pictures and would like to try editing photos.

* I have hundreds of items on my itunes account, and enjoy music, movies and apps. I do own a iPod Touch 2nd Gen.

* I would like a computer that is easy to use without many problems, and have movie making software.

* I would like a good looking laptop (apple is very nice looking however that is not enough to sell me).

I am interested in purchasing an MacBook Pro (or a MacBook I am not sure yet). Or a Dell XPS laptop.

I understand that people love Mac's and theres people who hate PC but I honestly do not hate PC that much, however it has caused many great problems but how am I supposed to compare if I never owned a mac.

Since I play games alot, I am concerned about the fact that the majority of videogames are not Mac compatible even if they are converted with BootCamp. Also Macbooks are more expensive.

Which computer is best for me? Please do not give me the "PC Sucks" comments without any further explanation as to why. The reason for that being that of all the websites I researched and all the friends I asked, they could never provide any information as to why they believe PC's suck compared to Macs.

Thank You,

IMHO, you're better off with a PC as they are more generic. Apple tries to lock you in...

I use an Compaq Presario ($250) with an Athlon 64 - 2GB memory, but need those OS X type applications. So I found VMware. With VMware (Virtual Machine Ware) I am running XP Pro SP 3 with Fedora 9 Linux as the virtual machine. Linux is so close to OS X as to be almost indistinguishable, and the beauty of it is that it's free!

It's awesome to be able to switch between XP and Linux (or operate in both simultaneously) on the fly with no loss of performance.

You can do pretty much everything you want on either of them, but gaming is generally much easier on Windows, due to compatibility of most games.

Also, Macs are generally more expensive for similar specs.

I don't know much about Macs, but if you want to play games you are going to have trouble without Windows.

I would also imagine most software is built for Windows.
