The Graham Norton Show

I used to watch the "So" shows on Channel 4. I find him so much better than the over-rated and over-paid Jonathan Ross. GN has more of a banter with his guests that isn't at their expense (and if it is it's good natured).

I did go off him a bit after his ill-timed Maurice Gibb 'joke', but I hope he is a bit more considered since then!

Edit_ I did really like him when he sat in for Chris Evans on Radio 2. Better than Chris Evans, I thought!
 
Graham's show is much better suited for Friday nights. I think it's been moved quite a lot in the past. Glad they didn't go with the old JR way of doing it.

The guests didn't have much chemistry did they? They were all okay seperately but no banter between the three. Might have been better if they sat Charlotte and Russell next to each other, they seemed to be talking over Maggie.
 
Did Graham mention who was on next week's show at the end of the episode? I searched on all the british TV Guides and the BBC site and not found anything. It is weird as I think Jonathan Ross had more promotion for his show than Graham does for his. You'd go to the BBC press office and you'd find out the Wossy guests for the next 3 episodes. Not so for Graham.

I did go to the American TV Guides and the official BBCAmerica site and they seem to have listings for a bit further ahead as well. I wonder if The Graham Norton Show is a BBCAmerica co-production as the show is shown a week later on American screens.

Anyhow, according to the page, next week's episode features Lee Mack and James Blunt.I was wondering if, at the end of tonight's show, they said anybody else other than Mack and Blunt.
 
Great to see Graham moved to Friday nights. It's completely the right slot for him. And as someone already said, he's so much better than Jonathan Ross.

Liked tonight's show; Charlotte was lovely as always and Maggie Gyllenhaal was interesting. Russell less so, but two out of three ain't bad!
 
I felt bad for Maggie, Russel just kept coming in and taking over with not too funny anecdotes, though i usually quite like him. There was one point at the red chair when she looked like she was about to say something then just thought forget it.
 
Often, when there's an American guest and a couple of Brits, the American guest gets a bit left out, especially when the conversation turns to UK celebs or tv programmes.

I like Charlotte, but she is a bit full of herself and virtually ignored Maggie. Russell at least interacted with her - even if he was interrupting at sometimes.

Maggie was lovely and polite, as always.
 
I thought the very same , she was polite and funny ,, but he came across as rude and needy .
She is beautiful and graceful and Russel looked like a right eejit beside her .
