I love this film, takes me back to my childhood! Excellent adventure movie, perfect for the child in all of us :D
 
I suppose the giant octopus, the spanish translation about the sado masochism and the cocaine will be missing.

It is better to buy the DVD and watch the extras for the octopus.
 
i'm glad the octopus didn't make it into the final cut actually.

do you have the dvd which has the (excellent) commentary by the whole cast and bob zemeckis, which actually "split screens" to them sat at the desk? it's very, very funny. :D
 
The Octopus scene is total crap lol, so glad that wasn't in the final film.

One of my favourite films, has unlimited rewatch value for me, takes me right back to my childhood.
 
The TV Guid says it will be edited, but it will probably be the hanging bit at the beginning.

Deffo class film. Have it on DVD and never tires. If nothing else is on worth watching then it will be for me also.

Loved them to make the sequel that keeps going around.

Liked the commentary bit were they mention that none of them were shown the Pirate Ship until the filming for the scene - that way had a better reaction
 
Picked it up on Blu Ray a few weeks ago. For an older film, it's actually a very good upscale.

The octopus scene should definitely have been cut out of the final movie, but for saying that, they left a reference to it in at the end of the movie, when the reporter asks what the scariest part was, and someone replies that it was the octopus.

Great, great movie, and helped define a golden era in movies during the 80s.

I remember seeing this on a television station a few years ago & could have swore that they cut the bit where Mama tells Sloth that she only dropped him once. :eek:
 
Hate to think how many times i've seen this film, but I never tire of it, 20 years after I first saw it.

Just pop it in the DVD player, and suddenly you're a child again!
 
I love this film! It's a timeless classic. Everyone should be made to watch this film - whether you are a kid, adult or grumpy old grandparents.
 
I think you had to be a kid when you first watched it to fully appreciate it. The Radio times reviewer is probably too old!

It's one of those films I love introducing to the younger generation, and they all love it as much as we did when we were kiRAB.

The Goonie's are good enough!
