The Goonies UK DVD Release Date?

I'm looking for information on when The Goonies will be released in the UK on DVD. I have searched on sites like Play.com and it just says not currently available. I would love to know when this great movie will be released.

This has been discussed at great length before. I reposted an article from Total DVD a while back explaining the situation. Basically, the US version's DVD commentary (which is excellent may I add) would mean that the UK version would have to be rated '12' instead of 'PG' - Warner Home Video weren't having any of it and have decided not to release it for the time being (until the BBFC come to their senses).

In conclusion - THERE IS CURRENTLY NO UK DVD VERSION!!! Just buy the Region 1 disk off Play.com - certainly worth it!
 
Im thinking about buying it from Play.com as I now have a multi region DVD player. It's a Sony and therefore I think it's chipped. Will The Goonies play on it or is that new RCE protection on this disk that will prevent my DVD player playing it?

Also does anyone else see tiny lines going across the screen when playing an NTSC DVD? I know they have a lower resolution and a PAL TV has to accommodate this but does anyone else see this? Or is it just my TV and I need a better one :P ?
