The Godfather Coppola Blu-Ray restoration

I Just watched the Coppola restoration Blu-Ray for the first time.
A lot of scenes have been cut from The Part 2 in the restoration version compared to the old VHS version. The most notable is the scene at the end where Senator Pat Geary is murdered by Michael Corleones henchman at his lake house. I have an old VHS video of the Godfather Part 2 and this scene is there.
I was under the impression he was just restoring the print, not cutting out key scenes.
 
It's not like they've just cut stuff out randomly. The boxset was overseen by Coppola himself, so any edits can be said to be directors edits.

And i assure you it's definitely worth buying them on Blu Ray for the upgrade in picture quality.
 
But the Senator Pat Geary murder scene was a pretty key part of GF2. In the Blu-Ray you are left wondering what happened to that slimy git.:D
 
there has been international faults with the bluray copy of The Godfather part 2 from the recent bluray realise. any chance perhaps the disc jumped?


i dont remember the scene in question, nor intend to rebuy it after already owning it on dvd - but when i read this forum it made me think that the disc may have jumped? it sounRAB like a pretty important scene - with no logic of being cut.
