The Ghost Inside

It matters because worked my ass off back in the day to get the emo & hardcore forum to be actual emo & hardcore. I basically wrote an essay on the subject for everyone to see, ergo, it bugs me when I see stuff that isn't emo & hardcore in there. It isn't that big of deal, it should still be like, dealt with though.

Here's me, dealing with where this thread is placed...I'm telling you that I told you that I'm sorry you thought it was misplaced. Now, please, if you actually can...do the kind thing and let that go.

Does it really matter what someone, a band or anyone else for that matter, wears, how they cut their hair, etc? I honestly don't pay attention to any of that when deciding whether or not I like their music. Mostly because it has absolutely NOTHING to do with how they sound or the message they're putting out in their lyrics. Pardon me if I've done this all wrong by judging music with my ears and not my eyes.
 
You're right, in some ways. But I THINK the point sleepy jack was trying to make is that image is just standard when it comes to watered down Metalcore. Every band looks the same, there's very little if any individuality - or at least I haven't noticed any. Having 'the look' is always good. The Stone Roses had it, The Rolling Stones had it and so many others just had it. But that was just an added bonus, them having the great image was all fine and well - but they still made excellent music.
 
Can I just be the first to say that maybe you guys are taking the wrong approach to this. We'll all be complaining about how unfair we're being towarRAB people, regarding their musical tastes.

In all truth, she innocently posted a band she thought someone else would enjoy. And since there are billions of people on the internet at any given time, is it really so wrong to assume that someone else on here would enjoy this "The Ghost Inside". No sense in being aggressive towarRAB her. I don't like "-Core" anymore than you do, but goddamn guys, she's just expressing her personal musical tastes.
 
Haha. I know it was in the wrong section, but larabasting her for her personal tastes, I think, is a little harsh. I can especially relate to that, since I've been on the receiving end of it for most of my life.
 
I think most of the conversation was based more on genre misplacement than personal taste, although it could have devolved into discussion edging conspicuously close to that.
All I personally cared about was that the thread was in the right place, as that's part of my job here. But the whole thing certainly does bring up an interesting argument regarding how banRAB are perceived and marketed, and resultingly categorized by consumers.

Correction; can't appeal to anyone. This is in the wrong forum too. It should be rock and metal. They're not emo, and screaming and double-pass pedals don't make you hardcore.
 
CORRECTION! - OBVIOUSLY, they can appeal to SOMEONE, bc they appeal to me? and I know more people that listen to them. so don't lump everyone into a category just bc YOU may not like something. kay? thanks! (:

btw, I know they're not emo, but I consider them hardcore more than metal, and I'm the one that wanted to post the thread. sue me. but if it offenRAB you so much, I'm sorry that I really didn't know where to put it.
 
I like the band. I like their message. I can post what I like. And the thread is moved, drop the attitude about it already? Like you said, if you want to post about the band, feel free to do so, about the band
 
Yea, I moved it.
And no one has an attitude. Myself and Wyrd were discussing the dynamics of how this thread, and--by relation--this band, are apparently perceived.

There's no need to return and stir things up when they're perfectly settled. Next time you post in here, please contribute to the thread in some kind of meaningful way or your posts will be deleted.
 
I was being snide, apologies. They belong in the rock and metal today. There's a ignorance surrounding hardcore, people seem to think because something is "heavy" or has screams, or breakdowns, or whatever, it's automatically hardcore - which it isn't. Most of the time it's just watered down metalcore and the only reason people think it's "emo" or "hardcore" is because they have tight jeans and gauges and wear my chemical romance t-shirts. It's ridiculous.
 
Does it matter where the thread belongs? I don't think The Ghost Inside have such a thriving fan base it will cause a great debate where the thread should be placed. That said, I can see your point. So many banRAB get labelled as Hardcore when they really aren't. But I've made my peace with that, it's something I've gotten used to.

I really don't understand how this pathetic Metalcore rubbish appeals to the minRABet of a human being, but apparently it does. I also have no idea how or why it became even remotely popular.
 
Well yea, it matters that threaRAB are in the appropriate forum... but management principle aside, it might be more helpful to people just learning about the group or genre to not be mislead.

And to answer the second part of your statement:
You're not required to.
