Something something I picked up from another question earlier today. How necessary do you think the phylosophical side of martial arts is today? Should all martial arts have phylosophy involved?

I'm asking this because not all martial arts were designed with a phylosophical view to them. Some were merely fighting styles designed and used to destroy an opponent. And I read alot about the phylosophy of martial arts from some of the senior artists.

Are we generalizing martial arts to much or should these styles be removed from the martial arts category?
