I loved the Life of Brian and the Holy Grail so agree with those choices. However,

There used to be some good ensemble moviies a bit like Mad Mad world that wree pretty good, like live action Whacky Races : Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines and THe Great Race spring to mind
