The Fourth Kind

Saw The Fourth Kind earlier tonight. Knew little about it going in, other than it being about alien abductions.

If you're a fan of Fire in the Sky, Close Encounters and Communion, you should enjoy this. The presentation; real life interview, actual video and audio footage (was it?), presented alongside the dramatized events was a new way to spin this genre tale and worked well.

Being a sucker for alien abduction movies, I thought this was pretty darn good! There were a couple of real scares (nearly choked on my Malteser at one scene!) and disturbing images, namely the hypnotised victims re-enacting their experiences. Though not a horror film at all, this was much scarier than Paranormal Activity I thought. Some images I'm still thinking about....:(

8/10 from me...just make sure you put your popcorn down.

Also saw this today and agree with the above post, however i haven't seen Paranormal Activity so can't comment if it's scarier. It's certainly not a horror film but there certainly are at least 2/3 big scares that are very very creepy and unsettling. It is very well acted.

But to get to the nitty gritty, it's all fake. It's a dramatisation of real archive video footage? Based on true events? Yeah right! It's publicity to market and sell the movie - get bums on seats - and that's all.

I saw this this afternoon and it's still unsettling me.
IF the footage is real, then it's terrifying.
If it's staged, then it's a good thriller/film.
Surely, someone, somewhere MUST know whether it's "real" or not??

Saw this last night and thought it was pretty awful! Did give me a few scares, but I couldn't get over the "real" woman's voice and acting - I wanted to slap her again and again!! And to hear peole in the foyer after discussing whether the footage was real or not just made my slapping hand itch again!! Oh and when they kept blanking out names "Name Omitted" - that just had me chuckling. Finally, at the end "blah blah did not want to be conneted with this film in any way", I couldn't help thinking - I can't blame them!!

I went to see this last night without reading anything about it & enjoyed it & found it genuinely creepy. Until...
I got home & did some research & found out its pretty much bullshit. Obviously the floating man in bed scene made me think 'ok this is probably fake' but I just dont understand why they went through so much to try & convince us it was real? The introduction at the start, labelling the actors & the characters they were playing along with all the 'actual dialogue' & freaky documentary footage. What was the point?

Im glad I went to see it without prior knowledge as I was genuinely disturbed but afterwarRAB just didnt really know what they were trying to achieve by aggressively insisting "its real! Its really, really real!"

Just been to see this. It was pretty good, but nothing special. I'm not entirely sure why they tried to portray it as "real". Guess they were going for the whole 'Blair Witch' style?

I would have enjoyed it more without the group of annoying scouse girls behind me, constantly talking all the way through it!

Milla Jovonich was great in it. (Finally, I know how to pronounce her name... I've been getting it wrong for ages!) Plus I agree with some of the comments about her. I recently saw some of her filming of Resident Evil 4 too, which was superb. That's looking like it will be a good film too! :)

What a load of coRABwallop this film was.

I just didn't find it one bit interesting! I will admit I jumped once, when the bloke sat up just before hovering above the bed, but then that's because I was just about to fall asleep!

I'll rate it 3/10

Just saw this finally

Isn't it funny how there isn't a trace of anything in this film on the internet? The murder suicide on the police dash cam was creepy but there's no news reports or anything of that event. Was that staged? The kickback of the gun seemed pretty real, compared to other movies anyway.
