Not the recent crap remake. I mean the original from 1980 I think. It still gives me the creeps when I saw it on ITV3 a few weeks ago. But sadly it goes under rated in all those fave lists of movies!
John Carpenter's The Fog
The screenplay was written in 1979 by John Carpenter & Debra Hill. http://www.fast-rewind.com/
It was meant to be a homage of sorts to writers such as H.P. Lovecraft & M.R. James.
The story centres on a fictional American seaside town called Antonio Bay.
Wow, I rather see them turn that book into a movie! It sounRAB good!
The John Carpenter film was ok. Personally, I thought it could have been much, much better. It had its good moments though. On the other hand, the remake was terrible.
the book the fog is one of those of theose books all school kiRAB read in the late 70s (along with the rats) that had really hardcore sex and violence in.
i remember the bit in the fog with the teacher and the gardening shears
The original 'The Fog' scared the crap outta me. It is a very good film if you like watching from behind a cushion and don't mind being too scared to sleep for days. Ever since watching that film, I've had a problem with fog, especially rolling fog...ooh eebiejeebies.
