The "FIX MY NOKIA E61 SCREEN!" Thread

Boiled Egg

New member
Ok... so I bought the Nokia E61 quite a while ago. I love the phone because honestly, there are no other phones out there right now that match the quality of this phone with all the features it has and the incredible reception and sound quality. But the ONE THING that has pissed me off the most about this phone so that I could not fully enjoy it was the fact that the screen scratches SO DAMN EASILY. So, I've done my research, and I've boughten 3 different screen protectors which SUCK (because they always have bubbles under them or always have dust under them and whenever you wash them there's always some dumb residue). The best screen protector I have right now is my krussell case with the plastic covering which has been more than sufficient.

So...with all you nokia s60 enthusiasts out there...how do you deal? How do you cope? Have you found anything at all that could fix the problem? Any kind of cheap fix such as a scratch removing polish? Or a replacement of the screen (is it glass or plastic?)? I'm sure someone must know something. Me being a perfectionist, I almost SOLD my phone and bought a different one JUST BECAUSE of that.

HELP? LOL

Hi, i have bought Exim screen protector for my e61. I have used their screen protectors in the past and so far so good.
It is meant for PDA touch screen, so the screen protector is more then one of those thin screen, this is thicker and harder kind. Fits perfectly as well and easy to apply. Give it a try

Ok thanks for the replies, but apparently you guys don't understand the purpose of this thread. It's not the "HELP ME PREVENT HAVING TO FIX MY SCREEN" but "HELP ME FIX MY (ALREADY SCRATCHED) SCREEN." Please read the post entirely before posting. Thanks.

Well considering that you spent over half the post talking about how you can't find a good screen protector, you can understand why we might think that's what you are lookin for suggestions on.

As for fixing the problem of scratches, buy an OEM housing off ebay, there's no other very good way.

There's some kind of solution out there that you can buy and rub on your phone to remove scratches from the screen. People usually buy it for their iPods and I don't know if it works.

I Googled this really quick: http://playlistmag.com/reviews/2005/08/scratchremove/index.php

It's for iPods, but you can take the info about the polishes for the screen and run with it.

i use the screen protector that came with the phone, the one with the little silver triangle in the corner, the silver triange can be removed and bam you have a screen protector

Buy a new LCD

then add a screen protector from ebay. They don't such, you suck. You don't know how to put on a screen protector. You think dust and bubbles are magically removed by the plastic when you put it on? NO!

YOU have to make sure there is no dust as you put it on, YOU have to go slowly and push hard to not create any bubbles.

YOU ARE AT FAULT not the screens.

Settle down, champ. Everyone in this thread has been trying to give you a solution to your carelessness, and all you've done is bash them for not giving you the results you were looking for. If it's going to bother you that much, replace your phone, put a screen protector on properly, and don't complain when people try to help you.

i was doing fine until alkizmo attacked me. it wasn't mycarelessness. i used displex, and displex is the worst product for fixing scratches ever. in fact, it made my screen WORSE after using it. WTF? I was just trying to fix some light scratches...I didn't ask for it too make it worse.
