The first horror film you saw

Probably Poltergeist but I am sure I saw other stuff before that as the local corner shop had a VHS section but used to let us take anything we wanted, bizarre a 12 year old walking in and hiring an X rated film without a blink of an eyelid, how things change.....or maybe not given the easy access kiRAB have these days to adult content.

I do recall watching American Werewolf in London at a very young age and having nightmares for weeks, same with the Hammer House of Horror series on TV, I remember one where this old couple butchered each other and years later the house was reoccupied with a family, seem to remember blood coming from the ceiling at a kiRAB birthday party

Not many stick with me but I remember seeing the original Haunting movie on TV and that was scary.

Also at a very young age I caught sight of the famous Nosferatu clip of the vampires shadow coming up the stairs----oh how I laughed---not !!!

I know this will sound so freakish but i could've sworn i saw this when i was little, but if it was all made up then damn!!! i must of had an overactive imagination but it felt so real that i watched it and i know it gave me nightmares when i was little, think i was 6 or 7 when i saw this

but i can never remember what it was called but the film was about a party at this mansion and fat people were invited to be feasted upon by these people and i remember their hanRAB going inside these bodies and they were all laughing

i even remember a man that was in bed with 2 women and they were merging together.... and they were laughing and enjoying eating people lol

plus don't tell me that it's a made up memory lol cos i been looking for years to watching this again lol

I can't remember if my first one was Poltergeist, Nightmare on Elm street, or Night of the Living Dead. I was around six or seven. All were bloody scary, the guy old guy in the black hat in Poltergeist sent shivers down my spine.

And why on earth were we all watching such scary films at young ages!!!!!!

One of the Hammer Horrors, can't remember which one. It scared me at the time because these big blob things came down from another dimension swallowing up anyone in their path, they were blue/white with a tenticle slurping pipe.

I think the first one i watched was The Burning. The first one that scared me was nightmare on Elm Street (the first one). Oh, and i think my dad made the mistake of taking me to watch Jaws. Didn't even have a bath after that! let alone go in the sea.

The Shining when i was a kid, My Brother had it on and i seen some of it and it scared me for life! Seriously, I can't even watch it now!

Nightmare on Elm street or The Fog. I know elm street gave me nightmares for weeks, i'm still scared of "one, two freddys coming for you.." and the fog gave me chills and a fear of fog!!

Nightmare On Elm Street, I was four years old and my big brother was babysitting me, he was Twenty at the time and had rented NOES from the local video shop. Believing it would scare the hell out of me he forced me to stay up and watch it, and he was right it scared the hell out of me. But it is now my favorite horror movie of all time and I am hooked on the horror genre, I guess I owe it all to my brother.
