The Fall of Troy

Which is why I like it. Not as much screaming, but some very pretty singing and melodies layered under all the noise. Listen to it some more.

Once you get into high school you might take biology and learn about such things as convergent evolution. Also, metal was hardly the first genre to speed up a previous genre.

But anyways, I'm looking forward to Phantom on the Horizon. Every song on the Ghost Ship demo was great. I expect it to be better than Manipulator (which was still pretty decent).

Well they've had most of the songs written for a long time.

Im a big fan of Manip. Probably like s/t and doppel for sure more. But Manip is still awesome. And I like phantom a lot as well...but the original demos are better. The boys are just going in a different directions now a days. A more polished sound.

Its a tough choice between Doppelganger and Manipulator. They're both amazing, and I'll just say Manipulator because of the diversity of the tracks. Doppel is amazing though, dont leave it out.

i used to like em til guitar hero 3 did one of their songs, then everyone claimed them to be the best band and that i didnt know sh*t and id say what songs do u know from them theyd say OH F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.

I heard all of Manipulator last night, and there were songs that I just couldn't stand, that Cut Down the whatever songs was absolutely dull and so were a couple of others.

yea, Ghostship VI aka Semi Fiction was put on Manipulator because they said they didnt feel it went with the flow of the other Ghostships as well..and I am insanely excited for whenever they do release Phantom.

Exactly, they lack all my favorite parts, which depletes the song for me, I always just end up going straight back to the demos. It also seems I have a hard time hearing the back up vocs as well. The one thing I like about Phantom as I try to find reasons to give it a chance at all, is the song extensions, how they just carry on with a little jam, Ive seen them do it at shows alot and I love it.

Oooh, I always forget about the Ghostship songs since they haven't really been released yet (the lp that is). Part 4 is really good though.

My first TFOT song was Whack Jacko, I heard it on a comp that I bought and then bought both their ST and Doppleganger.

Hehe...
Hardcore punk is a subgenre of punk rock that originated in the United States in the late 1970s. It emerged as many of the first-wave punk banRAB disbanded or moved onto different genres, and as many of the newer punk musicians focused on music with faster tempos, louder volume and harder bass levels.[1] The hardcore punk sound is generally thicker, heavier, and faster than 1970s-style punk rock, and it is sometimes characterized by short, loud[1], and passionate songs about serious topics such as government, capitalism, anarchism, war and the punk subculture itself.[2][3]

With roots in blues-rock and psychedelic rock, the banRAB that created heavy metal developed a thick, heavy, guitar-and-drums-centered sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion and fast guitar solos. The All Music Guide states that "of all rock & roll's myriad forms, heavy metal is the most extreme in terms of volume, machismo, and theatricality."[2]

Similarities, no?

I personally like the first one...

I do agree that one should go for Manipulator first though because it is much more diverse and sort-of has a poppy feel that people can get into.
