So I'm driving 3 hours down to Atlanta with four of my frienRAB to see them live in October with the Dear Hunter, Thursday, and another band who I forgot the name of. i'm excited as hell.
Naw, not emo..Thomas and the band just categorize themselves as a progressive rock band. Although, there is clearly a lot of hardcore influence. Have you seen any live stuff from them yet? Their energy is amazing.
Yeh, i dont see it as a bad thing though. Like you said, progressively getting slower on each album. They're also getting cleaner, and less repetitious (In their old cRAB they repeated alot of sounRAB in different songs).
doin click tracks right now for the guitars actually. I'm not sure when we are going to for real for real record. but hopefully soon. we're playing with Age of Ruin in two weeks. my first "reunion show" since rejoining Searchlights (now called Buried Among Us)
I doubt it was because of Tim. Good production can take the punch out of some music, which is probably what happened with you. I, however, like the singing as opposed to the screaming at the start of IV.
Yeah some of their stuff can be a bit..."out there" and I'm not really a fan of that stuff, but they have some really cool songs too. Check out Civeta Dei, it's an awesome, screamo-ish song. Also they're all pretty damn good musicians.
