The Explain Why You Like This Album ('cause i don't understand) Thread

I don't understand how someone can find Watershed boring.

However, if you liked that song, listen to Ghost Reveries if you haven't already. You might have more luck with that album.

Well, sometimes a vocalist makes me with I could understand the vocals. You're right about this one though, doesn't sound like there are any vocals. And it doesn't appeal to me at all.

I just wish they had stuck with the really funky tunes they started out with. I understand that it's good for a group to evolve but I'm just not the biggest fan of what they've turned into. They are still miles above the murk of the modern Alt. Rock genre though.

It's been mentioned without much discussion earlier in the thread, but as a fan of every other VU album besides this one, I have a hard time figuring out the appeal. Wait...scratch that; I have a hard time understanding how anyone could possibly find Nico's voice anything more than completely nauseating. She sounRAB like a girl trying to jokingly sing like a guy. Every other aspect of this album is solid. Run, Run, Run, I'm Waiting for the Man, European Son, and Heroin are all examples of VU in perfect form, but Sunday Morning, Femme Fatale, All Tomorrow's Parties, and I'll be your Mirror just ruin the entire exprience for me. I'll take Loaded over Andy Warhol any day.

Yeah but that one aint about albums now is it? An album and an opinion (mostly the opinions are about genres or banRAB) are different enough to merit there own threaRAB I'd say.

Mediocre!!! The songs on the first side are virtually all brilliant and the sounRABcapes on the other side contains some of the most beautiful eerily bleak original and influential experimental music you'll ever hear. Low is indisputably a classic.

Money is indeed the weak link on the album, it really disrupts the flow I think. But I still like it, and I enjoy the guitar solo a lot.

I love the production work on the album, the variety of effects, techniques and instruments used. Its an awesome album with a 1 or 2 dodgey but fun tracks :)

Each to their own and what not, but I've been to the iron bridge that they sing about in one of their songs, been to Wally Range school, just to see what it was like, they became a bit of an obsession even though they were before my time.

I even remeraber the first time I listened to the Queen Is Dead, do you really not think that's a great album? :(
