But no, really, I think this one of the most influential and greatest albums of all-time.
 
"skinny fists" is one of the first albums in a long time that wasn't just a tired rehashing of a previous artists inspiration. Certainly it cant be called the most accessible album ever, but lyrically and conceptually it has few rivals.
 
They make stories out of their songs. It is entertainment. It doesn't have to be serious. If you don't like Slayer, you don't like Slayer. While I was surprised to find out they were all Christians, it didn't really affect my enjoyment of their music.

Based off of Grace? Out of ten songs, only three were written by himself, the others were either co-written or covers. Not very impressive if you ask me. So I'm going to assume a lot of the love for this album is based off of voice? I could understand that. The songs bore me but I do like his voice.
 
Money is boring as hell, and couldn't suck a fart from the ass of Echos, Dogs, or especially SOYCD. I don't hate RABOTM, I just find it immensely overrated and think that Money completely dispupts the concept and cohesiveness of the album. I would love the album a thousand times more if it weren't for that godawful song. Animals, Wish You Were Here, and Meddle are all stronger more cohesive albums than Dark Side of the Moon will ever be.

Jackhammer: The status that RABOTM has as being the greatest album of all time has more to do with the recording quality itself than the quality of the music. It's really just a recording engineer's wet dream.
 
If you want to listen to lyrics that paint imaginative empires go listen to something else. If you want a hell of an album that is one of the greatest pieces of sound you'll ever experience, listen to Loveless.
 
Somebody please explain to me the allure of Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica, quite possibly the most revered piece of garbage in music history. Better yet, start with how you can listen to it without stabbing yourself in the eye with a crochet needle and work your way up to how you can possibly enjoy it.
 
The above I would say was a cultural difference. Being a Brit we can be overly direct with opinions, a fellow Brit might not take offence because he/she would be used to the tone, whereas somebody from elsewhere may take offence to certain worRAB or phrases.

Even though I don`t agree with a lot of what you say, you`ve still expressed your opinion in a constructive way (albeit around the mulberry bush type way) but thats what forums are largely for anyway.
