The Exorcist On Channel 5 Now

For anyone that's interested, the Exorcist is on Channel 5 right now. But does anyone know which version this is? Does anyone know if it's the unedited version - the one with the spider walk and the cutaways of the demon's face? I'd be very grateful for an answer, because I saw the demon's face on Wikipedia a couple of years ago and I really wish I hadn't because it haunted me for ages afterwarRAB.

Does anyone know? Thanks.
 
I'm watching it. I don't think it's the "spider walk" version but the demons faces are in it; I've seen two so far. Brilliant make up for it's day and they are terrifying even now.

I'm extremely surprised that C5 haven't cut out the "choice" language, well done them.
 
If that picture is what I think it is, then that is just cruel. I too was haunted by the 'face' when it popped up on my screen during an online prank thing. So to save the sanity of the OP

It's not the picture from the online prank, but it is equally disturbing. It's nothing you won't see if you watch the movie, though.
 
Don't worry - I didn't. I knew exactly what the link was so am staying WELL clear of it. And I too was a victim of the Scary Maze prank and I can honestly say that I have never been so scared in all my life.

Back to the film - I want to watch it but am extremely wary in case I see any of the "faces" because I never want to see any of them again.
 
Were these faces edited out in any versions of The Exorcist? I've only seen the one that C4 showed a few years ago when it was re-released and i honestly can't remember any of these faces :confused:
 
Well whad'ya know, they included the spider walk scene! It was cut, though as in the version I've seen she flicked a forked tongue in and out of her gob like a snake.
 
There are actually two versions of the spider walk scene. That was obviously the more gory one, where blood comes out of her mouth at the bottom of the stairs. The other version is when she turns her head, flicks her tongue like you say and then chases after her mother.

So because the spider walk has been included, the "faces" are bound to be included. :( So I can't watch for much longer.
 
Any idea why?

I'm recording the film at the moment because i've actually not watched it since i was a lot younger. I didn't like it that much or think it was particularly scary, but if it had "scary" stuff edited out then that might be why.
 
its sad when a horror film like this becomes somewhat of a comdey, i dont think i ever found it scary, but its still a classic and one of the best
 
I can only assume that it's because they are quite disturbing images tbh. I know when I went to see it at the cinema on it's re-release in the 90's the images certainly weren't included.
 
Lol, fair enough :p But I find the whole point of watching The Exorcist is to "enjoy" the whole thing and how uneasy it makes you feel, even after watching it. That's what scary movies are all about for me, anyway, and nothing does it better than this film.
