The Exorcist of Emily Rose

Does anyone know what's happening with this??? It sponsored Most Haunted last night - does that mean it's coming out soon and will it be any good or yet another rubbish horror film with a load of pretty teenagers screaming???

It's one of the worst pieces of rubbish to be released along with many others so far this year. No word of a lie. It's basically a 2hr big screen court case with flashbacks etc, over the top bad acting and has the same already covered in a billion other possession films and TV documentaries central theme. The trailer for it is one of the most misleading I have ever seen in terms of the actual film material itself.

If you want to be bored to death then it's definitely the film for you. I actually left the cinema about 25mins before the end and I haven't done that for years.

I won't waste money at the cinema then!!! What a disappointment!!!

DOES NOBODY IN HOLLYWOOD REMEMBER HOW TO MAKE A GOOD GHOST/POSSESSION FILM ANYMORE!!!

I love a good ghost film but the only one that has given me the creeps in the past 15 years was "What Lies Beneath". It seems that Hollywood has got so carried away with

1. Special effects (which usually make it less scary for me)
2. Screaming attractive teenagers (which make it a teen flick - people over 21 enjoy ghost films too!)

It really winRAB me up - do I have to watch DVRAB of Poltergeist, Witchboard, The Omen & The Exorcist forever without adding to my collection???????

Poltergeist I&II are my favourite horror films of all time. Don't you just get tired of the first film getting copied by one awful horror flick after another? The Ring & White Noise instantly come to mind and did you see the new Amityville Horror with the added 2005 subplot? I mean the whole priest in the cave; blatantly copied from Poltergeist II.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose has none of those. Doesn't make it good, but certainly isn't your usual "Hollywood Horror" fare.

Add 'The Others' to that, and I'm in agreement. That movie really creeped me out!

I forgot about The Others - that was good!!!

Don't they ever do opinion polls in the US about horror films and what is actually scary!! They should ask the UK horror fans - the people who make this trash don't seem to have a clue anymore!

I didn't watch the new Amityville - the old one was good enough for me and I'm sick of them making money by remaking perfectly good films so out of principle, I don't watch them.

Appartently it did really well in America when it was released but the majority of the reviews for it have been very average. It is not out in the UK untill the 25th of November in case you wanted to know!

The main problem I will have is that it's being advertised as a ghost/exorcist film which according to other posts, it isn't!!!

Just like 'The Village' and 'Hide and Seek', which I was interested in seeing until I found out they were doing the same, and were nothing to do with the paranormal at all!!!

but if it is a court case film rather than a paranormal film then it's not what I expected so will probably wait till it's on the tv rather than pay to see it as I'll probably be disappointed

Any lousy horror flick is number one in the States these days quite simply because of the 10-15 yr old target audience they are aimed at because the studios know that age group will be filling up the cinema seats and wasting their money on a pointless, rubbish horror film/usually remake these days for many, many reasons.

99% of these US rated PG-13 horror films are "terrible" which is no surprise really.

PG-13 films now 60% get a 12A rating in the UK & 40% get a 15 rating in the UK.
