The End Of Fatkat Animation Studios

I doubt many people are even familiar with Fatkat Animation Studios, but the studio has shut down. I thought they did a fine job on the ?Happy Tree Friends? TV Series and their work on ?Skunk Fu!? was exemplary.

I?ve never seen ?Three Delivery? before, so does anybody know why that series in particular was so hard for them?

Well they clearly failed to do that. If you want to see that kind of animation in Flash, watch Superjail.
Anyhoo, I heard the founders of FatKat launched a new studio, in the same area, so I guess all is good.

If they were doing something different, I never noticed. The animation in Three Delivery looks incredibly stiff, and the only thing "hand-drawn" about it is that all the characters look really sketchy and jagged.

With that said, it's sad to see another animation studio go.

I heard about this on Cartoon Brew awhile back. It's sad to see a company go out of business. I wonder what will happen with "Space Knights" the series that Fatkat was producing for Teletoon Detour? They might have produced one seasons worth of episodes but other then that I'm not sure. Well I hope for the best for everyone at the company, and for good luck with the new studio "Loogaroo" ;) (a new studio that some of the people who worked at Fatkat are going to be working from now on).

So yeah, that was a big jumbled post. Again good luck guys and gals.

Doesn't look like much. The series has some sketchy artwork that I kinda enjoyed, but everything else fell flat. The attempt at fluid animation was horrible.

Wow, is there ANY flash shows that don't claim to attempt to be "traditional 2D"? Seriously, you either do it, or you don't. If doing it in "Traditional 2D" in flash, it should be HARD for the viewer to tell if it's done in flash or not. From the first three seconds upon seeing Three delivery, I could tell it was just basic flash animation. Stretching, Rotating limbs and tweening flash symbols around is NOT traditional 2D.

Anyway, even though I hate it when people claim that they're doing traditional 2D when they obviously aren't, it sucks that they went out of business.

Never heard of Three Delivery, but I'm not too keen on Skunk Fu and I actually dislike HTF... a lot. Weird, since I normally love seeing cartoon gore.

Meh, a loss that will be soon forgotten, I'd say.

I have to take back what I said before. Attempting to do all that in Flash, with such as small crew was a huge effort. The heavily detailed backgrounds, the shadows and shading...even if they cheated with shape/motion tween, it was a good effort. I don't watch Three Delivery often, but the show is decent. I'm sad to see the animation studio go, since it did work on quite a few series I watch, like HTF and Skunk Fu!
