The End of Evangelion, What is its fate?

This is something I've been confused about since I heard that Manga Ent. lost the rights to the Evangelion movies and as such cannot produce the DVD's or release the renewal versions as they had planned. This leaves EoE and Death/Rebirth in a state of lirabo, What is the current status on it? I heard from some places that Funi picked it up, but I have yet to see any proof of that. I'm really bummed out in the fact that I want to own both of the movies, and the only way I can get them for a reasonable price is to buy them Used from Amazon (Which, even at "Reasonable" is still $40 for EoE (Almost $100 New.) or $20 for Death/Rebirth (Under $7 if I go for just the Disc, $60 New.) Anybody know what the status on these classics is?

Nobody has rescued them yet so they're sitting in lirabo. I'm hoping somebody like Funi will license the renewal version since those Manga DVRAB are not only really expensive now but they are also of extremely poor quality and have numerous things wrong with them (non-anamorphic widescreen, lousy video and audio quality, etc.).

Alright, if I'm lucky, FUNi will pick them up sometime this year. In the Meantime, they'll stay up on Youtube where they can be watched. Instead of being removed because of Starz's stingy copyright enforcement.

I have no idea what's going to happen to them...

No company seems to care about the movie anymore.

All Funi seems to care about is the rebuild films (which IMO is for the best right now).

And all Sentaifilms cares about is the show (which is all they've ever cared about..even when they were ADV).

You could probably find a used copy on Ebay if you really want to buy the film but...eh it's your choice.

Yeah you're kinda in lirabo for now. The actual series is constantly being released on Amazon (and getting sold out). But the movies you'll have to pay $100 for like I did for a unopened disk or $30 used. If you DO buy End of Evangelion however, DO NOT play it in your computer. Magna Studios SUCKS when it comes to their DVD's and online downloaRAB (Ghost in the Shell from I-Tunes has small distortions in the corners that last about three seconRAB in some episodes)and on this one the last half of the movie (right after the end of the first part) WILL FREEZE if you stop it or try to fast forward on your computer (you'll spend 30 minutes trying to get it out of your disk drive) Play it in your DVD player ONLY.

I'm sure FUNimation will pick it up. It's not like they're cranking these movies out real quick. Maybe they'll release it in between the movies. I'd sure love to get a new remaster on Blu-Ray, and FUNimation seems to be the only place that's making Blu-Ray happen for anime.

Bandai's dabbling in Blu-ray too, though they're releasing at a slower pace, and have some controversy with one of their Blu-ray series, Kurokami. And lest we forget Disney (Ponyo) and Sony (Paprika) too.

(BTW, I still haven't seen this movie...)

Do yourself a favor, unless you have an iron will, do not under any circumstance watch this movie when you're in a depressive or any negative mood. I was in a normal, content, "everything-is-a-okay" mood when I watched the film and it took three days for me to return to said normalcy because I was briefly traumatized by it. There was noooo happy place for me.

Keep waiting. Many others are. Including me.

I won't buy them until I get anamorphic widescreen versions, at the very least.

Same goes for many other Manga Ent properties. Like Perfect Blue.

I'm pretty paitent when it comes to waiting, so between this, Eva 1.11, and the inevitable 2.22 release, and Various other things I have my eyes on, I think I'll be fine.

*Ahem* "Don't worry darling, all humans have the chance to return to living form, just as long as there hearts are strong enough."

Never at any point did I say they came back. I said they had the chance. You're just twisting my worRAB around.

And he knew he was being manipulated from the start of the series, he just didn't do anything about it.

Not by his mother, though.

And yeah, I know all about the "loophole" of people coming back. Doesn't change the fact that Eve and Chokey McStrangle are the only ones on a blood-sea world for a long while.

His mother always planned to give him the keys to third impact. And it was a better choice also.

If Seele had gotten it, the world would have ended and no one would have gotten the chance to came back.

Gendo's plan would have just reunited him with Yui. He never wanted to end the world which can be proven by this line in the beginning of the movie "Death creates nothing".

Plus it would have happened anyways so...better choice on her part in that regard.

For the love of...I said that.

I know...I read the latest chapter!

Now we wait till next month to see what happens next....Sadamato is taking a break right now (like most of the time).

Disney? Eva? Not likely. XD

LMFAO! I haven't seen this yet, but I'm planning on having some frienRAB over so we can all wtf together when I get my hanRAB on this.
